The world records highest number in covid cases in a week

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported the highest number of new cases of the new Covid-19 virus in one week since the pandemic began, and while the United States plans to issue a travel warning to 80% of the world’s countries due to the virus, India has continued to set records for infected people. At a press conference, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Gebresus said 5.2 million new cases had been recorded, the eighth consecutive weekly increase, and the number of deaths had increased for the fifth week in a row.

He expressed concern about the “alarmingly” high number of cases and hospitalizations among people between the ages of 25 and 59, noting that the increase may be caused by the more contagious mutated strains and the fact that there is more social mixing among this age group. “We have the means to control this pandemic within months if we use it consistently and fairly,” said who director-general.

Climate change activist Greta Tonberg was a virtual guest at the press conference from Sweden, harshly criticizing “vaccine nationalism” and saying it was immoral for rich countries to offer their younger citizens vaccinations over vulnerable groups in developing countries.

In its daily report, the Commission stated that the 9 cases of cases from abroad were three in Shanghai, two in Fujian and one in Zhejiang, Hubei, Sichuan and Shaanxi, bringing the total number of cases received to 5,524, of which 5,283 were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

In India, new cases of Coronavirus on Tuesday decreased from record levels the previous day, but remained above the 200,000 level for the sixth day in a row, reaching 259,170 cases in the past 24 hours.

وأعلنت اللجنة الوطنية للصحة في الصين،امس، عدم تسجيل أي حالة وفاة مرتبطة بفيروس كورونا خلال الـ24 ساعة الماضية، بينما تلقت تقارير عن 10 إصابات بكورونا واحدة منها بعدوى محلية تم تسجيلها في مقاطعة يونان جنوب غربي البلاد، ما رفع إجمالي المصابين إلى 90 ألفا و520 حالة، وظل عدد الوفيات عند 4636 شخصا.

وذكرت اللجنة -في تقريرها اليومي- أن حالات الإصابة الوافدة من الخارج الـ9 جاءت بواقع 3 حالات في شنغهاي وحالتين في فوجيان وحالة واحدة في كل من تشجيانغ وهوبي وسيتشوان وشنشي، ما رفع إجمالي الحالات الوافدة إلى 5524 حالة غادر منها 5283 حالة المستشفيات بعد شفائها.

في الهند، تراجعت حالات الإصابة الجديدة بفيروس كورونا اليوم الثلاثاء عن المستويات القياسية التي بلغتها في اليوم السابق، لكنها ظلت فوق مستوى الـ200 ألف لليوم السادس على التوالي، إذ بلغت الحالات 259 ألفا و170 إصابة خلال الساعات الـ24 الماضية.

وأظهرت بيانات وزارة الصحة ارتفاعا قياسيا في عدد الوفيات، إذ توفي 1761 مصابا بالمرض ليصل الإجمالي إلى 180 ألفا و530. وكان مكتب رئيس الوزراء البريطاني بوريس جونسون أعلن الاثنين إلغاء زيارة كانت مقررة للهند الأسبوع المقبل لمخاوف متعلقة بفيروس كورونا.
