Qatar Airways Named Airline of the Year by Skytrax

Doha: Qatar Airways has been announced as the Airline of the Year by the international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax, in addition to securing five additional awards including Worlds Best Business Class, Worlds Best Business Class Airline Lounge, Worlds Best Business Class Airline Seat, Worlds Best Business Class Onboard Catering and Best Airline in the Middle East.
The airline continues to stand alone at the top of the industry having now won the main prize for an unprecedented sixth time (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2021).
Known as the Oscars of the Aviation Industry, the 2021 Skytrax awards covered the period from September 2019 to July 2021 with the results reflecting a mix of more normal travel times combined with travel during the pandemic. The extended period clearly demonstrated the resilience and flexibility of Qatar Airways, as it not only delivered continued excellence during normal times, but steadfastly continued flights and offered a lifeline to its customers across the globe during the most challenging of times.
HE Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, said: “Being recognised as the Worlds Best Airline for the sixth time is an incredible achievement for our airline and I want to thank our loyal passengers for this award.:

Our constant commitment to our passengers is to provide unrivalled experiences when they travel with Qatar Airways and these awards acknowledge that we continue to get this right,” he added.
Skytrax Chief Executive Officer, Edward Plaisted, said: “To be named as the Worlds Best Airline is a great recognition of Qatar Airways high standards, and to win this highest accolade for a sixth time is a remarkable achievement.”

الدوحة: حصلت الخطوط الجوية القطرية على جائزة “أفضل شركة طيران في العالم” ضمن جوائز سكاي تراكس العالمية2021، إلى جانب الفوز بخمس جوائز أخرى، وهي: “أفضل درجة رجال أعمال في العالم”، و”أفضل صالة لدرجة رجال الأعمال في العالم”، و”أفضل مقعد على درجة رجال الأعمال في العالم”، و”أفضل خدمات طعام على درجة رجال الأعمال في العالم”، و”أفضل شركة طيران في الشرق الأوسط”.
وواصلت الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر مكانتها في صدارة شركات الطيران العالمية بعد الفوز بجائزة الأفضل في العالم للمرة السادسة في تاريخها.
وشملت نسخة هذا العام من الجوائز، التي تشتهر بأنها الأعلى مكانةً على مستوى قطاع الطيران، الفترة من سبتمبر 2019 حتى يوليو2021 لتعكس تجربة السفر الاعتيادية وتجربة السفر خلال الجائحة العالمية.
واكدت نتائج هذا العام مرونة عمليات الخطوط الجوية القطرية وقدرتها على تجاوز التحديات.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، إن الحصول على لقب أفضل شركة طيران في العالم للمرة السادسة يعد إنجازا للخطوط الجوية القطرية ، مشيراً إلى أن الخطوط الجوية القطرية سيبقى هدفها أن تكون شركة الطيران المفضلة للمسافرين الدوليين الذين يتطلعون لزيارة وجهات جديدة.
من جانبه ذكر السيد إدوارد بلايستيد، الرئيس التنفيذي لسكاي تراكس، إن الفوز بلقب أفضل شركة طيران في العالم يعدّ اعترافاً بالمستويات الاستثنائية لخدمات الخطوط الجوية القطرية، ولا شك بأن الفوز بهذه الجائزة للمرة السادسة يعتبر إنجازاً .
