QIB Ranked amongst Top 100 Companies in the Middle East for 2021

Doha: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) was ranked 18th out of Top 100 Companies in the Middle East by Forbes Middle East Magazines annual ranking of the top 100 listed companies in the region for 2021. The Bank was ranked 2nd top company in Qatar according to the same ranking.

The new ranking reflects QIBs continuous improvement in performance and stability, its ability to withstand business continuity considering the COVID-19 pandemic, and its success in maintaining its longstanding position as Qatars largest private bank, the largest Islamic bank in the country, and a leading Islamic bank regionally.

Featuring the largest, most valuable, and profitable companies in the region, Forbes selection of Top 100 Companies in the Middle East is based on collected data from listed stock exchanges in the Arab countries, and ranks companies based on four elements, including market value, sales, assets, and profits.

The ranking was revealed in Forbes Middle Easts June 2021 issue.

In an interview with Forbes, QIBs Group CEO Bassel Gamal gave an in-depth and exclusive interview to the magazine, where he highlighted QIBs plans and vision to the financial industry, in addition to sharing his thoughts on the future of banking in Qatar and the region.

Commenting on the new ranking, Gamal said: “We are pleased with our ranking amongst the top 100 companies in the Middle East and being one of the top 20 performing business institutions in the region. This prestigious ranking is indeed a confirmation of QIBs outstanding financial performance and stability despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic since 2020.”

الدوحة: حل مصرف قطر الإسلامي (المصرف) في المرتبة /18/ ضمن التصنيف السنوي لأقوى 100 شركة مدرجة في الشرق الأوسط لعام 2021، والذي تصدره مجلة فوربس الشرق الأوسط، كما حقق المرتبة الثانية ضمن أفضل الشركات القطرية في التصنيف هذا العام.

ويعكس هذا التصنيف الجديد استمرار (المصرف) في تطوير أدائه وتحقيق الاستقرار، فضلا عن قدرته على ضمان استمرارية الأعمال في ظل تداعيات جائحة /كوفيد-19/، ونجاح المصرف في الحفاظ على مكانته الرائدة كأكبر مصرف في القطاع الخاص في قطر، وأكبر مصرف إسلامي في الدولة، إلى جانب كونه مصرفا إسلاميا رائدا على مستوى المنطقة.

وشمل تصنيف فوربس أكبر الشركات في المنطقة، وأكثرها قيمة وربحية، حيث تم اختيار أقوى 100 شركة في الشرق الأوسط لعام 2021 بناء على تجميع المعلومات والبيانات المالية من القوائم المالية المجمعة للشركات، وأسواق المال في دول المنطقة، ثم صنف الشركات وفقا لأربعة معايير هي القيمة السوقية، وحجم المبيعات، وإجمالي الأصول، والأرباح.

وقد تم نشر القائمة الكاملة لأقوى 100 شركة في الشرق الأوسط لعام 2021 في عدد شهر يونيو الجاري من مجلة فوربس الشرق الأوسط.

وتحدث السيد باسل جمال الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة (المصرف)، في حوار مع مجلة فوربس، عن خطط (المصرف) ورؤيته لقطاع الصيرفة، فضلا عن مشاركة تصوراته حول مستقبل القطاع المصرفي في دولة قطر ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط.

وقال ” نحن سعداء بإدراجنا ضمن تصنيف أقوى 100 شركة في الشرق الأوسط لعام 2021، وبكوننا أحد أقوى 20 شركة في المنطقة”، مؤكدا أن هذا التصنيف دليل جديد يعكس الأداء المالي القوي للمصرف، واستقراره على الرغم من تحديات جائحة /كوفيد-19/ منذ سنة 2020.
