Demands for the speedy completion of the development project of Hamad Al Kabeer Street

Doha: A number of citizens called on the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to expedite the implementation of the development project of Hamad Al Kabeer Street, which is part of the development projects of the Central Doha area, pointing to the huge crowding that the area suffers from after converting the street to only two lanes in each direction, especially with the presence of many Banks and vital institutions in the region, which are witnessing a great demand from citizens and residents.
It was explained that the delay in completing the project increased the suffering of bank auditors and the authorities on the street in light of the exacerbation of the crisis of lack of parking, as those who go to that area in order to obtain a parking may suffer, and the journey to search for a parking may reach more than 30 minutes, in addition to being subjected to traffic violations due to stopping in places other than permitted.
Citizens called for providing enough parking spots for bank and institutions’ employees and auditors in the area and prevent the exploitation of bulk use for vacant lands that have been transformed into car washing yards and parking lots. They also complained about cars being damaged as a result of being parked in irregular parking spaces in the empty lands behind the banks area, as they might be scratched by one of the cars due to the lack of space.
They demanded the development of a clear plan to increase the number of parking lots in light of the increasing number of visitors to the institutions in the area and the presence of many vacant lands that can be used in a multi-storey parking project, in addition to exploiting old houses and converting them into parking spaces in the absence of any residents.

الدوحة: طالب عددٌ من المواطنين هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» بتسريع تنفيذ مشروع تطوير شارع حمد الكبير الذي يقع ضمن مشاريع تطوير منطقة الدوحة المركزية، مشيرين إلى الزحام الكبير الذي تعاني منه المنطقة بعد تحويل الشارع إلى مسارين فقط في كل اتجاه، لا سيما مع وجود العديد من البنوك والمؤسسات الحيوية بالمنطقة والتي تشهد إقبالًا كبيرًا من المواطنين والمقيمين. وأوضح أن تأخر إنجاز المشروع زاد من مُعاناة مُراجعي البنوك والجهات الموجودة بالشارع في ظل تفاقم أزمة نقص المواقف، حيث يعاني من يقصدون تلك المنطقة من أجل الحصول على موقف وقد تصل رحلة البحث عن موقف إلى أكثر من 30 دقيقة، بالإضافة إلى التعرّض للمُخالفات المرورية بسبب التوقف في غير الأماكن المسموح بها.
ودعوا إلى توفير مواقف تكفي أعداد الموظفين والمراجعين للبنوك والمؤسسات الموجودة بالمنطقة ومنع استغلال العمالة السائبة للأراضي الفضاء التي تحولت إلى ساحات لغسيل السيارات ومواقف يقومون بتأجيرها. واشتكوا كذلك من تضرر السيارات نتيجة توقيفها في مواقف غير نظامية بالأراضي الفضاء خلف منطقة البنوك، إذ قد يتم خدشها من قبل إحدى السيارات نتيجة ضيق المكان. وطالبوا بوضع خطة واضحة لزيادة أعداد المواقف في ظل تزايد أعداد المراجعين للمؤسسات الموجودة بالمنطقة وتواجد العديد من الأراضي الفضاء والتي يمكن الاستفادة منها بمشروع مواقف مُتعدّدة الطوابق، بالإضافة إلى استغلال المنازل القديمة وتحويلها إلى مواقف في ظل عدم وجود أي سكان بها.
