Business class passengers on a plane from India to the United States were surprised by the presence of a bat flying over their heads, forcing the pilot to return to New Delhi
The Hindustan Times confirmed that the accident occurred at dawn last Thursday in an Air India Boeing 777-300 during a flight from New Delhi to Newark Airport in New Jersey.
According to Russia Today, the bat was discovered inside the business class on flight AI-105 DEL-EWR half an hour after take-off, noting that the captain of the plane had informed the Indian Air Traffic Control Authority of the incident.
Social media users circulated footage on the website showing the bat flying inside the plane during the flight, amid shock from passengers and the crew’s inability to deal with it.
The Asian News International (ANI) quoted Indian officials as confirming that the plane had to return to Delhi as a result of this emergency situation, wildlife experts arrived on the plane to catch the bat, while passengers flew to the United States on another plane.
Indian press reports indicated that experts found the bat dead inside the plane, suggesting that it sneaked into it by accident during the entry of foodstuffs into the flight.

وأكدت صحيفة Hindustan Times الهندية أن الحادث وقع فجر الخميس الماضي في طائرة من طراز “بوينغ 777-300” تابعة لشركة Air India خلال رحلة من نيودلهي إلى مطار نيوارك في نيوجيرسي.
وأوضحت الصحيفة، بحسب روسيا اليوم، أن الخفاش اكتشف داخل درجة رجال الأعمال في الرحلة رقم AI-105 DEL-EWR بعد نصف ساعة من إقلاع الطائرة، مشيرة إلى أن قبطان الطائرة أبلغ الهيئة الهندية المعنية بمراقبة الحركة الجوية بهذا الحادث.
وتداول نشطاء في مواقع التواصل لقطات تظهر الخفاش وهو يحلق داخل الطائرة خلال الرحلة، وسط صدمة من الركاب وعجز الطاقم عن التعامل معه .
ونقلت “وكالة الأنباء الآسيوية” (ANI) عن مسؤولين هنود تأكيدهم أن الطائرة اضطرت إلى العودة إلى دلهي نتيجة لهذا الوضع الطارئ، ووصل خبراء معنيون بالأحياء البرية إلى الطائرة للقبض على الخفاش، فيما توجه الركاب إلى الولايات المتحدة على متن طائرة أخرى.
وأشارت تقارير صحفية هندية أن الخبراء عثروا على الخفاش ميتا داخل الطائرة، مرجحة أنه تسلل إلى داخلها صدفة خلال إدخال المواد الغذائية إلى الرحلة.
