Private schools can choose between blended or remote learning

Doha: Senior Education Ministry official told an Arabic daily that private schools are allowed to choose between blended or remote education from Sunday.

Rashid Al Ameri, Director of Private Schools Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said that the ministry has allowed private schools to choose between continuing with the distance education system or returning to the blended education system, provided that the integrated education system begins on Sunday, May 30, in an interview with the Al Sharq daily.

“After improvement in the epidemiological situation and in line with the start of the first phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions that began on Friday, May 28, we found it appropriate to allow the return of blended education to facilitate our students’ interests,” he said.

In context of state’s decision towards starting the implementation of the first phase of the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of Corona, which is scheduled for Friday, May 28, and after communicating with private schools, we decided to allow the return of blended education system from Sunday, May 30 until the end of the current school year.

This decision is not compulsory, but rather at the request of each school if they wish to do so.

The return of the integrated education system is limited to schools that wish to do so, provided that they submit a request to do so to the Private Schools Affairs Department.

The actual strength of presence in the building will be decided by the school for each academic level and what is compatible with the needs of each grade with focus on not increasing more than 30% of overall capacity of the building. 

The school is allowed to decide the periods for blended but should not be less than four periods for the school and two periods for KG. The schools are required to follow the precautionary measures as announced by state agencies. 

الدوحة: خيّر قطاعُ شؤونِ التعليم الخاصّ بوزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي المدارسَ ورياضَ الأطفال الخاصّة بين العودة إلى نظام التعليم المدمج أو الدراسة عن بُعد خلال الفترة المتبقية من العام الدراسي 2020 /‏‏ 2021، وذلك اعتبارًا من غدٍ الأحد، وذلك في إطار بدْء المرحلة الأولى من خُطة الرفع التدريجيّ للقيود المفروضة للحدّ من انتشار وباء كورونا «كوفيد-19»، وبناءً على تواصُل عددٍ من المدارس الخاصّة مع الوزارة.

وأوضحت مصادرُ بالمدارس الخاص أنّ قطاع شؤون التعليم الخاص حدّد عدة ضوابط، منها اقتصار عودة نظام التعليم المدمج على المدارس التي ترغب في ذلك، وتقدّمت بطلب لإدارة شؤون المدارس الخاصة، على ألا تزيد نسبة الحضور الفعلي على 30% من الطاقة الاستيعابية للمبنى، وذلك وَفقًا لما تقرّه المدرسة أو الروضة حسب المرحلة الدراسيّة، وبما يتناسب مع احتياجات كل صفّ دراسيّ.

وأضافت المصادر: إنّ الوزارة تركت لإدارة المدرسة تحديدَ ساعات التمدرس اليوميّ بالنسبة للتعليم المدمج شريطة ألا تقلّ عن أربع ساعات يوميًا للمدرسة، وعن ساعتَين للروضة، مع التشديد على ضرورة استمرار المدارس بتطبيق كافة الإجراءات الاحترازية وَفْق التوجيهات الصادرة من الجهات المعنيّة بالدولة.
