وفي الوقت الذي تسعى فيه المستشفيات جاهدة للحصول على المزيد من الأكسجين والأسرة وأجهزة التنفس الصناعي وسيارات الإسعاف، ارتأت بعض العائلات الاعتماد على نفسها وحشد مواردها الخاصة في غياب نظام فعال.
ونشر موقع الإذاعة الألمانية فيديو يظهر حجم التكدس على المستشفيات طلباً للأكسجين أو البحث عنه في الأسواق، وقالت – في تقرير لها – إن الأكسجين أصبح عملة نادرة في بلد يضربها السلالة الجديدة بقوة .
وذكر موقع “فرانس 24” أن الهند التي تضربها موجة ثانية من الوباء تحتاج إلى الأدوية والأكسجين الذي يعتبر ضرورياً للمصابين بأعراض كوفيد الحادة.
وبما أن النقص في أي مادة يعتبر فرصة للمتربحين، نشأت سوق سوداء، وأيضاً حركات تضامن، من خلال مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وفي نهاية الأسبوع الماضي، انتقد وزير التجارة بيوش غويال “الأطباء الذين يعطون المرضى كميات أكسجين غير ضرورية”.. وقال للصحافيين: “يجب إعطاء المرضى فقط كمية الأكسجين التي يحتاجون إليها”.
وتخطط نيودلهي في الوقت الراهن لاستيراد 50 ألف طن من الأكسجين، وهي توزع عبر قطار خاص، أطلق عليه «أكسجين إكسبرس»، القوارير في الولايات الأكثر تضرراً بالوباء.
وتعهد رئيس الوزراء ناريندرا مودي، مساء الثلاثاء، بـ “بذل كل جهد ممكن لتعزيز الإمدادات”.
وتغزو المناشدات، والمطالبة بعلاجات وأسرة في المستشفيات، مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، وبدأت شبكة من النشطاء والمؤثرين العمل لمساعدة الأشخاص الذين يواجهون صعوبات.
