Dust-laden winds continue until Monday
استمرار هبوب الرياح المُحمّلة بالأتربة حتى الاثنين
Doha: The Meteorological Department predicted that the dust wave currently taking place in the country will continue today and tomorrow, which may cause a decrease in visibility on the external roads as a result of the sand and dust raised, and the Department warned of strong winds and high waves at sea.
Yesterday, the country experienced strong northern winds loaded with dust over most areas ranging in speed from 20 to 30 knots, with gusts of up to 35 knots in AbuSmara, resulting in a decrease in horizontal visibility, reaching 1 km in the southern exposed areas.
Al-Raya lens monitored low visibility and lack of visibility in some streets, roads and areas, where strong dust-laden winds caused a lack of visibility in some parts of those roads.
The Ministry of Interior posted on its account on the social networking site «Twitter» a tweet warning drivers of the low range of horizontal visibility in some roads, especially external, due to dust, calling for attention, and taking safety measures, especially wearing seat belts, reducing speed, and leaving enough safety distance, to avoid vehicle accidents.
الدوحة: توقّعت إدارة الأرصاد الجويّة استمرار موجة الغبار التي تشهدُها البلاد حاليًا اليوم وغدًا، ما قد يتسبّب في انخفاض مستوى الرؤية على الطرق الخارجية نتيجة الرمال والأتربة المُثارة، وحذّرت الإدارة من الرياح القوية والأمواج العالية في عرض البحر.
وشهدت البلاد أمس هبوب رياح شمالية قوية مُحمّلة بالغبار على مُعظم المناطق تراوحت سرعتُها ما بين 20 إلى 30 عقدة، مع هبّات وصلتْ إلى 35 عقدة في أبوسمرة، أدّت إلى تدنّي مدى الرؤية الأفقية، وصلت إلى 1 كم في المناطق الجنوبيّة المكشوفة.
ورصدت عدسةُ الراية تدنّيَ مُستوى الرؤية وانعدامَها في بعض الشوارع والطرقِ والمناطق، حيث تسبّبت الرياح القوية المحملة بالغبار في انعدام الرؤية في بعض الأجزاء من تلك الطرق.
ونشرتْ وزارة الداخلية على حسابِها في موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «تويتر» تغريدةً تحذّر فيها السّائقين من تدنِّي مدَى الرؤية الأفقية في بعض الطرق خاصةً الخارجية، بسبب الغبار، داعيةً إلى الانتباه، واتّخاذ إجراءات السلامة، وفي مقدّمتها ارتداء حزام الأمان، وتخفيف السرعة، وترك مسافة أمان كافية، تجنُّبًا لحوادث المركبات.
