Agreement signed to establish UN OCHA in Qatar
اتفاقية لإنشاء مكتب للأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية في دولة قطر

New York: The State of Qatar and the United Nations have signed an agreement to establish the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the State of Qatar.
HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani signed the agreement on behalf of the State of Qatar, while HE Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock signed the agreement on the UN’s behalf.
The office, which will be based in Doha, aims to coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors, defend the rights of those in need, raise the level of alert and prevention, and facilitate sustainable solutions.
It will also support the main United Nations office’s mission of coordinating global humanitarian action and field operations around the world.

نيويورك: وقعت دولة قطر والأمم المتحدة اتفاقية لإنشاء مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية في دولة قطر.
وقامت سعادة السفيرة الشيخة علياء أحمد بن سيف آل ثاني، المندوب الدائم لدولة قطر لدى الأمم المتحدة بالتوقيع نيابة عن دولة قطر على الاتفاقية، وقام السيد مارك لوكوك، وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة للشؤون الإنسانية ومنسق الإغاثة الطارئة بالتوقيع على الاتفاقية نيابة عن الأمم المتحدة.
يهدف المكتب الذي سيتخذ من الدوحة مقراً له، تنسيق العمل الإنساني الفعال والقائم على المبادئ بالشراكة مع الجهات الفاعلة الوطنية والدولية، وللدفاع عن حقوق المحتاجين، ورفع درجة التأهب والوقاية، وتسهيل الحلول المستدامة، كما سيقوم بدعم مهمة مكتب الأمم المتحدة الرئيسي المتمثلة في تنسيق الأعمال الإنسانية العالمية والعمليات الميدانية في جميع أنحاء العالم.
