Dr. Al-Khal talks about the side effects indicators of the “Pfizer” vaccine

Doha: Dr. Abdullatif Al-Khal stressed that the vaccine, despite its development and approval in one year, does not mean that it has skipped any of the necessary steps that are usually followed in developing vaccines or that the manufacturing quality or the degree of safety has not been verified. On the contrary, all steps, including the laboratory and clinical trials have been applied more effectively than before thanks to the advanced technology used and thanks to the prior investments made by the companies and countries to develop a vaccine.

The head of the Communicable Diseases Department at HMC explained that the vaccination that will start the campaign in the State of Qatar is produced by “Pfizer” and “BioNTech”, which gives a high degree of prevention of up to 95%, and most of the side effects associated with are often mild. To moderate pain, and it may include pain at the site of the injection or a slight sensation of slight fatigue, muscle pain or mild heat, knowing that these symptoms are often mild and last from one to three days, and some analgesics can be used for these symptoms if the need arises, confirming that the side effects are an indication of the body’s response to the vaccination, and that it established the necessary immunity to deal with the virus, confirming that the vaccination is given in two doses, which are taken within three weeks.

الدوحة: أكد الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال على أن اللقاح رغم تطويره واعتماده في عام واحد إلا أن هذا لا يعني تجاوزه أيا من الخطوات الضرورية التي تتبع عادة في تطوير اللقاحات أو لم يتم التحقق من جودة التصنيع أو درجة الأمان به، بل على العكس، فإن جميع الخطوات بما فيها التجارب المخبرية والإكلينيكية قد تم تطبيقها وبشكل أكثر فعالية من ذي قبل بفضل التكنولوجيا المتقدمة المستخدمة وبفضل الاستثمارات المسبقة التي خصصتها الشركاتوالدول لتطوير اللقاح.

وأوضح رئيس قسم الأمراض الانتقالية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية أن التطعيم الذي ستبدأ به الحملة في دولة قطر هو الذي تنتجه شركتا “فايزر” و “بايونتك” والذي يعطي درجة عالية من الوقاية تصل إلى 95 بالمئة، كما أن معظم الأعراض الجانبية المصاحبة غالبا ما تكون خفيفة إلى متوسطة، وقد تشمل ألما في موضع الحقنة أو إحساسا خفيفا بالإرهاق الخفيف أو آلام العضلات أو حرارة خفيفة، علما بأن هذه الأعراض غالبا ما تكون خفيفة وتستمر من يوم إلى ثلاثة أيام، ويمكن استعمال بعض المسكنات لهذه الأعراض إذا استدعت الحاجة، مؤكدا أن الأعراض الجانبية مؤشر على استجابة الجسم للتطعيم ، وأنه كون المناعة اللازمة للتصدي للفيروس، مؤكدا أن التطعيم يعطى على جرعتين يتم تناولهما خلال ثلاثة أسابيع.
