Minister of Foreign Affairs Holds Phone Call with his Iranian counterpart

Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani today made a phone call to HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif.
During the call, they discussed bilateral cooperation relations and issues of common concern.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed during the call the State of Qatar’s strong condemnation of the bombing that took place in Tehran and the assassination of the scientist, Mohsen Fakhri zadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization at the Iranian Ministry of Defense, in an armed attack, considering it a clear violation of human rights.
His Excellency expressed the State of Qatar’s condolences to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that such steps will only contribute to pouring more fuel to the fire at a time when the region and the international community are looking for ways to reduce tensions and return to the table of dialogue and diplomacy.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs called for restraint and finding fundamental solutions for the outstanding issues.
For his part, HE Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif valued the stance of the government and people of the State of Qatar, stressing the strength of the relations between the two countries.

الدوحة: أجرى سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية يوم الأمس اتصالا هاتفيا مع سعادة الدكتور محمد جواد ظريف وزير الشؤون الخارجية في الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية.
جرى خلال الاتصال استعراض علاقات التعاون الثنائي والموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
وأعرب سعادة نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية خلال الاتصال عن إدانة دولة قطر بشدة التفجير الذي تم في طهران واغتيال العالم محسن فخري زادة رئيس منظمة الأبحاث والإبداع بوزارة الدفاع الإيرانية في هجوم مسلح، معتبرا أن ذلك يعد تعديا جليا على حقوق الإنسان.
وعبر عن تعازي دولة قطر لحكومة وشعب الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، مؤكدا أن مثل هذه الخطوات لن تسهم إلا في سكب المزيد من الوقود على النار في الوقت الذي تبحث فيه المنطقة والمجتمع الدولي عن وسائل لتخفيف التوتر والعودة إلى طاولة الحوار والدبلوماسية.
ودعا سعادة نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية إلى ضبط النفس والسعي إلى إيجاد حلول جذرية للمسائل العالقة.
من ناحيته، ثمن سعادة الدكتور محمد جواد ظريف موقف دولة قطر حكومة وشعبا، مؤكدا على متانة العلاقات بين البلدين .
