Ajyal Festival presents the first drive-in cinema screenings in Lusail

Doha: The eighth edition of “Ajyal Film Festival” organized by the Doha Film Institute from November 18 to 23 this year, presents the first drive-in cinema experience of its kind in the State of Qatar, in partnership with the National Tourism Council, in Lusail.
The open-air cinema experience displays a selection of classic movies, from beloved family movies, and horror movies full of excitement and suspense, within safe social spaces and an environment that is in line with the state’s precautionary guidelines, and maintains the health of the participants in the festival.
Fatima Hassan Al-Rumaihi, Director of Ajyal Film Festival and CEO of the Doha Film Institute, said: “Drive-in cinema, which was one of the main components of the filmmaking experience in the 1950s and 1960s, is flourishing all over the world as an innovative way to preserve the spirit of society and celebrate culture in the world. This new era, by harnessing the beauty of movies, award-winning classic shows, and dazzling midnight shows, accordingly we are proud to present the first car cinema in Lusail as part of Ajyal Film Festival this year to enrich audiences’ experience in a new space that combines film, music and fun, “she said, expressing her thanks to the National Tourism Council for their generous support and assistance in providing a safe, shared cinematic experience.
The drive-in cinema program at the festival shows family movies, including: the American movie “ Bambi – a Disney classic” directed by David Hand, and showing 6:30 pm today Thursday, November 12th, and the American movie” Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” a 2005 production directed by Andrew Adamson, showing at 7:30 pm tomorrow Friday, November 13th, and the award-winning film” Chicken Run” from DreamWorks Studio directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park, and the film will be shown at 7 pm the day after tomorrow Saturday November 14th.
The Japanese film Lupine III, directed by Takashi Yamazaki, will be shown for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region on Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd of November, and the Car Cinema Show will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the beloved Disney animated film Cinderella directed by Clyde Geronimi and Wilfred Jackson , Hamilton Lusk, as well as the series of Musical Rhythms Generations concerts as part of the Drive-in Cinema program.

الدوحة: تقدم النسخة الثامنة من مهرجان /أجيال السينمائي/ الذي تنظمه مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام خلال الفترة من 18 وحتى 23 نوفمبر الجاري، تجربة /سينما السيارات/ الأولى من نوعها في دولة قطر، بالشراكة مع المجلس الوطني للسياحة، في لوسيل.
وتعرض تجربة سينما الهواء الطلق باقة مختارة من الأفلام الكلاسيكية المميزة، من أفلام عائلية محببة، وأفلام رعب مليئة بالإثارة والتشويق، ضمن مسافات اجتماعية آمنة وبيئة تتوافق مع الإرشادات الاحترازية للدولة، وتحافظ على صحة المشاركين في المهرجان.
وقالت السيدة فاطمة حسن الرميحي، مديرة مهرجان أجيال السينمائي والرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام: “تزدهر من جديد سينما السيارات التي كانت تعد من العناصر الأساسية في تجربة صناعة الأفلام في الخمسينيات والستينيات، في جميع أنحاء العالم بعدّها وسيلة إبداعية للحفاظ على روح المجتمع وللاحتفال بالثقافة في هذا العصر الجديد، وذلك من خلال تسخير جمال الأفلام، والعروض الكلاسيكية الحائزة على جوائز، وعروض منتصف الليل المبهرة، وبناء على ذلك فإننا نفخر بتقديم أول سينما سيارات في لوسيل كجزء من مهرجان أجيال السينمائي هذا العام لإثراء تجربة الجماهير في مساحة جديدة تجمع بين الأفلام والموسيقى والمرح”، معربة عن شكرها للمجلس الوطني للسياحة على دعمه السخي ومساعدته في توفير تجربة سينمائية مشتركة آمنة.
ويعرض برنامج سينما السيارات في المهرجان الأفلام العائلية منها: الفيلم الأمريكي /بامبي- من كلاسيكيات ديزني/ للمخرج ديفيد هاند، ويعرض 6:30 مساء غد /الخميس/، والفيلم الأمريكي /سجلات نارنيا: الأسد، الساحرة وخزانة الملابس/ إنتاج 2005 من إخراج أندرو آدامسون، ويعرض 7:30 مساء بعد غد /الجمعة/، وفيلم /هروب الدجاج/ الحائز على جوائز من استديو دريم ووركس من إخراج بيتر لورد ونيك بارك، وسيعرض الفيلم في تمام الساعة 7 مساء يوم /السبت/ المقبل.
كما سيعرض للمرة الأولى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا الفيلم الياباني /لوبين الثالث/ للمخرج تاكاشي يامازاكي مساء يومي الجمعة 20 والأحد 22 نوفمبر الجاري، كما سيحتفل عرض سينما السيارات بالذكرى السبعين لفيلم الرسوم المتحركة المحبوب سندريلا من شركة ديزني من إخراج كلايد جيرونيمي، ويلفريد جاكسون، وهاميلتون لوسك، فضلا عن سلسلة حفلات إيقاعات أجيال الموسيقية التي تقام ضمن برنامج سينما السيارات.
