Construction of Treated Sewage Effluent Network to Serve 5 Areas West of Doha

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced completion of all works related to constructing 14-km-long Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) lines, which aim at constructing a TSE network to irrigate green areas in 5 areas west of Doha.
Project engineer in the Roads Projects Department Eng. Mohamed Massoud Al Ateeq pointed out that the scope of works included constructing a TSE Network covering the needs of 5 areas west of Doha through extending new pipelines on Muaither North Street, Al Sedaira Street, Gheenat Fuwairit Street, Jassim bin Ali Street, Rawdat Al Naisar and then towards Al Wajba area and Rawdat Abal Heeran areas as this newly constructed network collects all treated sewage effluent water and distributes it to irrigate the green areas, parks and landscapes alongside the streets to ensure a sustainable exploitation of the treated effluent to increase the green space in the area.
Eng. Al Ateeq added that the main TSE lines runs at a depth of approximately 3.5 and 5.5 meters underground, and the upgrade of the TSE Network serves several areas witnessing a significant urban growth. It also minimizes the pressure on local water resources including water desalination and groundwater well drilling.

الدوحة: انتهت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ من تنفيذ جميع أعمال إنشاء خطوط مياه الصرف المعالجة في 5 مناطق غرب الدوحة بطول حوالي 14 كيلومتراً، وذلك بهدف استحداث شبكة للمياه المعالجة لري المساحات الخضراء.
وأوضح المهندس محمد مسعود آل عتيق، مدير المشروع في إدارة مشروعات الطرق، أن الأعمال المنجزة شملت إنشاء شبكة مياه الصرف المعالجة لتغطية احتياجات خمس مناطق غرب الدوحة من خلال مدّ أنابيب على شوارع /معيذر الشمالي، والسديرة، وغينة فويرط ، وجاسم بن علي، وروضة النيسر ومنه إلى منطقة الوجبة وروضة أبا الحيران/، لافتا إلى أن هذه الشبكة تعمل على تجميع مياه الصرف الصحي المعالجة وتوزيعها لري المناطق الخضراء والحدائق والمزروعات على جوانب الطرق، وهو ما يعد استغلالاً مستداماً لمياه الصرف الصحي التي يتم الاستفادة منها في زيادة الرقعة الخضراء في المنطقة.
وأضاف أن الأنبوب الرئيسي لخطوط المياه المعالجة تم تنفيذه على متوسط عمق يتراوح ما بين 3.5 متر و5.5 متر تحت الأرض، وأن أعمال تطوير البنية التحتية لمياه الصرف الصحي المعالجة تخدم عدّة مناطق، تشهد تطوراً ونمواً كبيرين وتساهم في تقليل الضغط على الموارد المائية في البلاد من عمليات تحلية مياه البحر وحفر الآبار الجوفية.
