Swiss courts acquit Nasser Al Khulaifi

Zurich: Courts in Switzerland acquitted Friday Chairman of the beIN Media Group Nasser Al Khulaifi from corruption charges related to World Cup 2026 and 2030 TV rights.
Al Khulaifi commented on the ruling and said that “after a relentless four-year campaign against me that ignored the basic facts and the law at every turn I have finally, fully and completely cleared my name.”
“Todays verdict is a total vindication. It restores my faith in the rule of law and in due process, after four years of baseless allegations, fictitious charges and constant smears of my reputation all of which have been proven to be completely and wholly unsubstantiated,” Al Khulaifi added.
He stressed that he can now devote his entire energy on building a positive future for world sport “at a time when the industry needs strong leadership the most.”

زيورخ: برّأ القضاء السويسري يوم الأمس، السيد ناصر الخليفي رئيس مجلس إدارة مجموعة بي إن beIN الإعلامية، من قضية فساد حول حقوق نقل تلفزيوني لمونديالي 2026 و2030.
وتعقيباً على الحكم الصادر، قال السيد ناصر الخليفي “بعد استهدافي بحملة قاسية استمرت أربع سنوات، أُغفِلَتْ خلالها الحقائقُ الأساسية والأسس القانونُية في كل مرحلة، تمكنتُ أخيراً من تبرئة اسمي بشكل كامل وقطعي”.
وأضاف الخليفي قائلاً: “ان قرار اليوم يثبت براءاتي بشكل كامل. وقد جددتْ هذه البراءةُ إيماني بسيادة القانون وبالإجراءات القانونية، بعد أربع سنوات من الادعاءات والتهم الوهمية والتشهير المستمر بسمعتي، وقد ثبت أن ذلك كله لا أساس له من الصحة”.
وشدد الخليفي على أنه بات بإمكانه أن يكرّس كامل طاقته وجهوده للمساهمة في بناء مستقبل إيجابي للرياضة العالمية، “في وقت يحتاج فيه القطاع إلى قيادة قوية أكثر من أيِّ شيء آخر”.
