QU, Lusail University Sign MoU to Promote Joint Cooperation

Doha: Qatar University (QU) and Lusail University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join cooperation in the academic, research, administrative and technical fields.
The MoU was signed by Vice President for Academic Affairs at QU Dr. Omar Al-Ansari, and Vice President of Lusail University Prof. Nizam Hindi. The agreement took place in presence of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lusail University Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al Marri, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham and officials from both universities.
The agreement included the exchange of faculty, registration of students in various courses, opportunities for students to conduct their research and study courses which are being offered at both universities, access to attend conferences and research programs, holding joint seminars on topics of common interest.
The agreement also included cooperation in exchanging scientific publications, textbooks, and scientific materials for academic curricula, publications and periodicals. Use of university libraries; Training of academics, administrators and technicians. In addition to organizing student activities such as, sports, cultural, social, and cooperation in other possible areas of mutual interest.
Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al Marri thanked and appreciate Qatar University. He said: “Lusail University will be thankful to QU for providing us great services. QU is first national university that spares no effort to provide adequate support to all educational institutions in Qatar.”
Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Hassan Al-Derham said, that the signing of this MoU comes within the framework of Qatar University’s continuous endeavor to cooperate with all higher education institutions in Qatar as part of the university’s responsibility towards society and importance of the role that private universities play in providing society with different competencies. “Qatar University welcomes this constructive cooperation, which opens doors for students to explore educational and research fields,” he added.
For his part, Dr. Omar Al-Ansari explained the importance of signing this agreement, stressing that Qatar University seeks to transfer its scientific and research expertise to national universities. He also added that the agreement includes more than one field which will give students opportunity to register and participate in joint courses.
Prof. Nizam said that we look to build a long-term strategic relationship with QU that aspires to achieve the vision and mission of both universities in all fields and making use of various resources available at both universities.
He noted the importance of this partnership for the students and thanked QU for this cooperation with Lusail University which will contribute to achieve human development by providing education to the students.

الدوحة: وقعت جامعة قطر وجامعة لوسيل مذكرة تفاهم، بشأن التعاون المشترك في المجالات ذات الصلة بالمجالات الأكاديمية والبحثية والإدارية والتقنية.
وقع المذكرة كل من الدكتور عمر الأنصاري نائب رئيس جامعة قطر للشؤون الأكاديمية، والدكتور نظام هندي وكيل جامعة لوسيل، وذلك بحضور سعادة الدكتور علي بن فطيس المري رئيس مجلس أمناء الجامعة، والدكتور حسن بن راشد الدرهم رئيس جامعة قطر وعدد من المسؤولين بالجامعتين.
وتضمنت المذكرة تعاون الطرفين في مجال تبادل الخبرات التدريسية وتسجيل مقررات بالتزامن ومعادلة المقررات الدراسية وإتاحة الفرصة للطلاب لإجراء بحوثهم الجامعية أو دراسة بعض المقررات المطروحة، وذلك طبقاً للقواعد المنظمة لذلك والمعمول بها لدى الطرفين، إلى جانب إتاحة المشاركة في برامج البحوث والمؤتمرات التي ينظمها كل طرف، وعقد ندوات علمية مشتركة بشأن الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
كما تضمنت المذكرة التعاون في تبادل المطبوعات العلمية والكتب الدراسية والمواد العلمية للمقررات الدراسية والمنشورات والدوريات واستخدام المكتبات الجامعية وتدريب الأكاديميين والإداريين والفنيين، بالإضافة إلى تنظيم الأنشطة الطلابية، والرياضية والثقافية والاجتماعية المشتركة والتعاون في المجالات الأخرى الممكنة ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
ووجه سعادة الدكتور علي بن فطيس المري، رئيس مجلس أمناء جامعة لوسيل، الشكر والتقدير لجامعة قطر على هذا التعاون، وقال “إن جامعة لوسيل تقدر ما تقدمه جامعة قطر من خدمات جليلة، لدعم المؤسسات التعليمية في الدولة”.
بدوره قال الدكتور حسن الدرهم رئيس جامعة قطر، إن توقيع هذه المذكرة يأتي في إطار سعي جامعة قطر الدائم للتعاون مع كافة مؤسسات التعليم العالي في قطر كجزء من مسؤولية الجامعة تجاه المجتمع.
وأشار إلى الدور الذي تلعبه الجامعات الخاصة في مد المجتمع بالكفاءات المختلفة، وقال “إن جامعة قطر ترحب بهذا التعاون البناء وهو ما تؤكده مجالات التعاون التي تضمنتها المذكرة حيث لا تقتصر على المجال التعليمي والبحثي فقط، بل تتعدى ذلك للتعاون في مجال قطاع شؤون الطلاب والمكتبات وغيرها من المجالات”.
من جهته أوضح الدكتور عمر الأنصاري نائب الرئيس للشؤون الأكاديمية أهمية توقيع هذه المذكرة، مؤكدا سعي جامعة قطر لنقل خبراتها العلمية والبحثية للجامعات الوطنية سواء كانت عامة أو خاصة .
وأضاف أن المذكرة تتضمن أكثر من مجال، وهو ما ينعكس إيجابا على الطلاب ويتيح لهم الفرصة للمشاركة الأكاديمية والمساهمة في الأبحاث والأنشطة المختلفة، كما أنها ستمكن أعضاء هيئة التدريس من تبادل الأبحاث والمشاركة في المؤتمرات التي تنظم في الجامعتين .
من جانبه قال الدكتور نظام هندي وكيل جامعة لوسيل، إن الجامعة تتطلع إلى بناء علاقة استراتيجية طويلة المدى مع جامعة قطر، لتحقق رؤية ورسالة الجامعتين في كافة المجالات سواء كان في التعليم والتعلم، والبحث العلمي، وتطوير أعضاء هيئة التدريس، والاستفادة من المصادر المختلفة المتوافرة لديهما.
