Ashghal to convert Grand Hamad Intersection into temporary roundabout
أشغال تحوّل تقاطع حمد الكبير إلى دوار مؤقت
The Peninsula – Doha:
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced the conversion of Grand Hamad Intersection on A Ring Road into a temporary roundabout while keeping two lanes open in all directions, in addition to partially closing the intersection known as Bin Abbass. In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this change will be implemented on Thursday 23 July 2020 for a period of 2 months to enable completion of upgrading works as part of the A Ring Road Development Project.
During this period, road users of Al Mahar Street wishing to turn left towards Grand Hamad Street, will be required to turn right and reach Ali bin Abdulla Intersection where they will perform a U-turn to get back on Grand
Hamad Street and reach their destinations. Whereas, those using Grand Hamad Street and wishing to turn left towards Al Mahar Street, will have to continue straight for 100 meters where they will make a U-turn then turn right towards Al Mahar Street, as shown in the attached map.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal urged all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.

أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن تحويل تقاطع حمد الكبير على الطريق الدائري الأول إلى دوار مؤقت مع الإبقاء على مسارين مفتوحين في جميع الاتجاهات إلى جانب إغلاق جزئي للتقاطع المعروف بـ “بن عباس”.
وبالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور، سيبدأ هذا التغيير المروري اعتباراً من يوم الخميس 23 يوليو2020 ولمدة شهرين بهدف إتاحة المجال أمام استكمال أعمال التطوير ضمن مشروع تطوير الطريق الدائري الأول.
وخلال هذه الفترة، يستطيع مستخدمي شارع المحار المتجهين يساراً نحو شارع حمد الكبير، الانعطاف يميناً نحو تقاطع علي بن عبد الله ومنه الدوران والرجوع إلى الخلف نحو شارع حمد الكبير للوصول إلى وجهاتهم. أما بالنسبة للقادمين من شارع حمد الكبير والمتجهين يساراً نحو شارع المحار، فسيتعين عليهم المواصلة نحو 100 متر للدوران والرجوع إلى الخلف ثم الانعطاف يميناً نحو شارع المحار، كما هو موضح بالخريطة المرفقة.
ستقوم هيئة الأشغال العامة بتركيب اللوحات الإرشادية لتنبيه مستخدمي الطريق بهذا التغيير المروري، وتهيب بجميع مستخدمي الطريق الالتزام بحدود السرعة المسموحة واتباع اللوحات الإرشادية حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
