The corniche is still closed to labor gatherings

Lt. Col. Jaber A’deeba, Assistant Director of traffic awareness department at the General Administration of Traffic, said that the increased working hours during the implementation of the first phase of gradual easing of restrictions imposed because of the new Coronavirus (Covid19) have made it possible to reduce traffic during peak times.

On the possibility of opening the corniche to the public, especially in front of the labor gatherings that used to walk in its spaces on Fridays and Saturdays, as adopted in the parks for sports, Lt. Col. A’deeba stressed in a statement to Al-Sharq that the corniche will continue to be closed to the gatherings on Friday, Saturday and other days in order to preserve the safety of all and to abide by the preventive measures announced by the concerned authorities during the implementation of the first phase of gradual easing of restrictions imposed due to the new coronavirus (Covid-19). This is to support the state’s efforts to reduce the spread of the virus.

وحول إمكانية فتح الكورنيش للجمهور خاصة أمام التجمعات العمالية التي اعتادت التنزّه في فضاءاته أيام الجمعة والسبت على غرار ما تم اعتماده في الحدائق العامة لممارسة الرياضة، شدد المقدم عضيبة التأكيد في تصريح للشرق على أنه سيتواصل إغلاق الكورنيش امام التجمعات يومي الجمعة والسبت وغيرها من الأيام حفاظا على سلامة الجميع والتزاما بالإجراءات الوقائية التي أعلنت عن الجهات المعنية خلال فترة تنفيذ المرحلة الأولى من التخفيف التدريجي للقيود المفروضة نتيجة فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد19). وذلك لدعم جهود الدولة في الحد من انتشار الفيروس.
