Qatar sends urgent medical aid to 4 countries to combat coronavirus pandemic
قطر ترسل مساعدات طبية عاجلة لـ 4 دول لدعم جهود مكافحة تفشي وباء كورونا
QNA – Doha:
Qatar, represented by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), sent on Wednesday four shipments of urgent medical assistance to Tunisia, Algeria, Rwanda and Nepal, in support of the efforts of friendly governments to confront and contain the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
Qatar Fund For Development clarified in a statement that a total of 45 tonnes of medical equipment and supplies were sent to the four countries and were transported by Qatar Airways.
Director General of Qatar Fund for Development Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari affirmed in a statement on this occasion that the medical assistance provided by the State of Qatar to the friendly countries is an embodiment of solidarity and cooperation with brothers and friends, and it also comes within the context of global efforts to combat the spread of the pandemic.
He also said that this aid comes from the duty of joint international responsibility and in support of international efforts to stop the spread of the virus.
The aid complements the urgent medical assistance provided by the State of Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries through the Qatar Fund for Development, where Qatar provided urgent support to several brotherly and friendly countries such as Iran, Lebanon and Italy, with the aim of extending a helping hand to overcome the coronavirus crisis that swept the world.

أرسلت دولة قطر متمثلة بصندوق قطر للتنمية، اليوم، أربع شحنات من المساعدات الطبية العاجلة إلى كل من جمهورية تونس الشقيقة، والجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية الشقيقة، وجمهورية رواندا الصديقة، وجمهورية النيبال الديمقراطية الاتحادية الصديقة، وذلك في إطار دعم الجهود التي تبذلها الحكومات الشقيقة والصديقة في مواجهة واحتواء تفشي وباء فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد – 19).
وأوضح صندوق قطر للتنمية، في بيان له، أن الوزن الإجمالي لهذه المساعدات للدول الأربع، بلغ 45 طنا من المعدات والمستلزمات الطبية، كالكمامات ومعدات الوقاية الشخصية، وقد قامت بنقلها الخطوط الجوية القطرية.
وفي تصريح له بهذه المناسبة، أكد السيد خليفة بن جاسم الكواري مدير عام صندوق قطر للتنمية، أن هذه المساعدات الطبية التي تقدمها دولة قطر للدول الشقيقة والصديقة، تعد تجسيدا للتكاتف والتعاون بين الأشقاء والأصدقاء، كما أنها تأتي في إطار الجهود العالمية المبذولة في محاربة تفشي هذا الوباء.
وقال “كما أن تلك المساعدات تأتي كذلك انطلاقا من واجب المسؤولية الدولية المشتركة، ودعما للجهود الدولية المبذولة في سبيل وقف انتشار هذا الفيروس”.
يذكر أن هذه المساعدة تأتي استكمالا لما قدمته دولة قطر من مساعدات طبية عاجلة للدول الشقيقة والصديقة، وذلك من خلال صندوق قطر للتنمية، حيث قدمت دولة قطر خلال هذه الجائحة غير المسبوقة، دعما عاجلا لعدة دول شقيقة وصديقة كإيران ولبنان وإيطاليا، بهدف مد يد العون لها ومساعدتها على تخطي أزمة فيروس كورونا التي اجتاحت العالم.
