MME responds to 4,443 requests for pest and rodent control

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of Services Affairs in the municipalities, conducted intensive campaigns to control insects and rodents in the past two weeks.
The vital areas and public facilities were also sterilised and disinfected across municipalities during the campaign.
The campaigns were carried out in the municipalities of Al Khor, Al Dhakhira, Al Sheehaniya, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Al Wakrah, Al Shamal, Doha and Al Daayen.
This is part of the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the state to limit the spread of coronavirus.
As many as 4,443 requests for pest and rodent control were handled during two weeks. The Services Department responded to 908 requests in Doha Municipality; 1,185 requests in Al Rayyan Municipality; 700 requests in Al Wakrah Municipality; 456 requests in Al Daayen Municipality; 1,121 requests in Umm Salal Municipality and 73 requests in Al Shamal Municipality.
As many as 13,834 containers for household waste were disinfected across the municipalities.
A total of 86,000 litres of spraying and sterilisation materials used in the control operations.
There were also integrated teams of workers, drivers, engineers, and supervisors to cover work in all municipalities during that period.
The Ministry called on people to cooperate with the competent authorities in order to protect themselves and others from the infection of COVID-19.

قامت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة في إدارة شؤون الخدمات في البلديات بحملات مكثفة لمكافحة الحشرات والقوارض خلال الأسبوعين الماضيين.
كما تم تعقيم المناطق الحيوية والمرافق العامة وتطهيرها في جميع أنحاء البلديات خلال الحملة.
ونُفذت الحملات في بلديات الخور والدخيرة والشيهانية والريان وأم صلال والوكرة والشمال والدوحة والداين.
وجاء هذا كجزء من التدابير الاحترازية والوقائية التي اتخذتها الدولة للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا. وتم التعامل مع ما يصل إلى 4,443 طلب لمكافحة الآفات والقوارض خلال أسبوعين.
واستجابت إدارة الخدمات لـ 908 طلبات في بلدية الدوحة؛ 1,185 طلب في بلدية الريان. 700 طلب في بلدية الوكرة؛ 456 طلباً في بلدية الداين؛ 1121 طلباً في بلدية أم صلال و73 طلباً في بلدية الشمال.
وتم تطهير ما يصل إلى 834 13 حاوية للنفايات المنزلية في جميع أنحاء البلديات.
تم استخدام ما مجموعه 86,000 لتر من مواد الرش والمواد المعقمة في عملية المكافحة.
كما كانت هناك فرق متكاملة من العمال والسائقين والمهندسين والمشرفين لتغطية العمل في جميع البلديات خلال تلك الفترة.
ودعت الوزارة الناس إلى التعاون مع السلطات المختصة من أجل حماية أنفسهم والآخرين من الإصابة بـ( كوفيد-19).
