Qatar Airways organises NSD events at Oryx International School campus

Doha:  Qatar Airways hosted an enjoyable and exciting celebration of National Sport Day, featuring a variety of sports-based family activities for staff members from the group and its subsidiaries.

The event, which took place at the new, state-of-art Oryx International School Campus, featured a variety of fun-filled activities for Qatar Airways Group staff and families, including football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, cycling, aerobics and yoga, as well as a kids’ activity station featuring mini-football games and an obstacle course, where friendly competitions took place between employees.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Officer, H E Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar National Sport Day reflects the vision of our country’s wise leadership for building individuals and society. Its key message is that sports should be a part of the culture and life of individuals and society, and is an important aspect of our nation’s investment in human development.

“By hosting a fun and active day for our employees at our new, state-of-the-art Oryx International School, we are encouraging Qatar Airways staff and other members of the community to incorporate healthy lifestyles and habits, and helping foster a healthy and energetic way of living in Qatar.”

Qatar’s National Sport Day is celebrated each year on the second Tuesday of February in an effort to develop the country’s National 2030 vision, which encourages a healthy lifestyle by promoting sports, physical education and sustainable development in the State of Qatar. Qatar Airways strives to take part in fulfilling Qatar’s vision by hosting an annual event that encourages employees to live more active and healthier lives.

This year’s National Sport Day, follows an action packed year of sporting events in Qatar in 2019, including the IAAF World Athletic Championships Doha 2019, FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 and 24th Arabian Gulf Cup.

As the country’s national carrier, Qatar Airways continues to play a vital role in enhancing the already flourishing sports event calendar in Qatar through its sponsorship of tournaments Doha such as the PSA World Squash Championship Qatar, the Qatar Total Open 2020 tennis tournament, and the Qatar Cricket Tournament 2020.

Qatar Airways is proud to sponsor premier sporting clubs around the world. The airline recently revealed multi-year sponsorship agreements with several global sports entities, including leading German football team FC Bayern München AG, Italian football club AS Roma, France’s most successful football club Paris Saint-Germain and Argentinian club Boca Juniors. In addition, Qatar Airways is the official airline sponsor of CONMEBOL professional football competitions across South America, including the Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores, Copa CONMEBOL Sudamericana and the CONMEBOL Recopa.

استضافت الخطوط الجوية القطرية احتفالاً مميزاً بمناسبة اليوم الرياضي للدولة، شهد تنظيم العديد من الفعاليات الرياضية العائلية لجميع العاملين في المجموعة والشركات التابعة لها.

أقيمت الاحتفالات في مبنى مدرسة أوريكس الدولية، واشتملت على العديد من الأنشطة المليئة بالمتعة والمرح للموظفين وعائلاتهم، بما في ذلك ألعاب كرة القدم وكرة الطائرة وكرة السلة والكريكت وركوب الدراجات والتمارين الرياضية وتمارين اليوجا، بالإضافة إلى أنشطة خاصة بالأطفال مثل كرة القدم المصغرة وسباق الحواجز.

وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «تعكس الاحتفالات باليوم الرياضي لدولة قطر رؤية قيادتنا الحكيمة الرامية إلى جعل الرياضة أسلوب حياة وجزءاً لا يتجزأ من ثقافة وحياة الأفراد والمجتمع. كما تعتبر الرياضة دليلاً على الجهود التي تبذلها دولة قطر لتحقيق التنمية الإنسانية».

وأضاف سعادة السيد الباكر: «من خلال استضافتنا ليوم من المرح والأنشطة المميزة في حرم مدرسة أوريكس الدولية، فإننا نشجع الموظفين وعائلاتهم والمجتمعات المحلية على اتباع نمط حياة صحي ومفعم بالحيوية والنشاط».

رؤية قطر

وتحتفل دولة قطر باليوم الرياضي للدولة يوم الثلاثاء من الأسبوع الثاني من شهر فبراير من كل عام، بهدف المساهمة في تحقيق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 التي تشجّع الجميع على اتباع نمط حياة صحي، وذلك من خلال الترويج لأهمية الرياضة والتربية البدنية والتنمية المستدامة في دولة قطر. وتبذل الخطوط الجوية القطرية أقصى جهودها للمساهمة في تحقيق رؤية قطر الوطنية من خلال استضافة فعاليات سنوية تهدف إلى تشجيع الموظفين على اتباع نمط حياة أكثر نشاطاً وصحة.

وتزامنت الاحتفالات باليوم الرياضي لدولة قطر 2020 مع اختتام عام حافل بالأحداث الرياضية في دولة قطر في عام 2019، حيث استضافت الدولة العديد من البطولات الرياضية، بما في ذلك بطولة العالم لألعاب القوى، وكأس العالم للأندية، وكأس الخليج العربي 24.

وتستمر الخطوط الجوية القطرية بالمساهمة بدور مهم وفعّال في تعزيز الرياضة في دولة قطر من خلال رعايتها للعديد من الفعاليات والبطولات الرياضية في الدوحة، مثل بطولة العالم للاسكواش، وبطولة توتال المفتوحة للتنس 2020، وبطولة قطر للكريكت 2020.
