Qatar Airways hosts second edition of “CAPA Qatar” Summit

Following the success of last year’s CAPA Qatar Aviation Aeropolitical and Regulatory Summit, the first summit of its kind held in the Middle East, Qatar Airways has said it looks forward to welcoming industry leaders, national regulatory authorities, international and regional aviation organisations, and air transport executives from around the world to Doha next month for the second edition.
This important summit will see senior aviation decision-makers from across the public and private sector gather for two days, February 5 and 6, to discuss the latest issues and developments regarding international aviation regulation. Qatar Airways Group chief executive HE Akbar al-Baker said, “Given the complex global regulatory environment airlines operate in, I am pleased that this summit will gather high-level industry experts from both the public and private sectors to engage in meaningful discussion on the issues and challenges faced by our industry.”
CAPA – Centre for Aviation chairman emeritus Peter Harbison added, “With vastly different aviation regulation across the globe, it is essential that we continue an open dialogue on the issues and opportunities that come with open skies and market access. We are pleased to partner with Qatar Airways again this year to provide this high-level platform of discussion for senior decision makers across the industry to engage and learn from each other.”
Key industry figures set to speak at the event include HE al-Baker; IAG CEO Willie Walsh; co-ordinator for Transport and Tourism in the European Parliament, Jose Ramon Bauza Diaz; European Commission director-general – Mobility and Transport, Henrik Hololei; IATA CEO and director-general, Alexandre de Juniac; Kuwait Airways CEO Kamil al-Awadhi; Royal Jordanian CEO Stefan Pichler; RwandAir CEO Yvonne Manzi Makolo; US Department of Transportation director – International Office of Aviation, Brian Hedberg; Malaysian Aviation Commission director of Aviation Development, Germal Singh Khera; African Airlines Association secretary-general Abderahmane Berthe; and AACO secretary-General Abdul Wahab Teffaha.

بعد النجاح الذي حققته قمة كابا قطر للسياسة الجوية وتنظيم الطيران، العام الماضي، والتي كانت أول قمة من نوعها تعقد في الشرق الأوسط، تتطلع الخطوط الجوية القطرية إلى الترحيب بقادة قطاع الطيران من جميع أنحاء العالم في الدوحة، الشهر المقبل، لحضور النسخة الثانية من القمة.
وستشهد هذه القمة المهمة اجتماع كبار صنّاع القرار في مجال الطيران من القطاعين العام والخاص لمدة يومين في الفترة من 5 – 6 فبراير 2020، لمناقشة أحدث القضايا والتطورات المتعلقة بتنظيم الطيران الدولي في منطقة الخليج والعالم.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «استناداً إلى البيئة التنظيمية العالمية المعقدة التي تعمل فيها شركات الطيران، فإنه يسعدني أن تجمع هذه القمة خبراء القطاع رفيعي المستوى من القطاعين العام والخاص للمشاركة في مناقشات هادفة وبنّاءة حول القضايا والتحديات التي تواجه القطاع».
