Ashghal Opens Second Underpass at Mesaimeer Interchange from E-Ring towards Industrial Area Road
افتتاح ثاني نفق بتقاطع مسيمير من الدائري الخامس في اتجاه طريق المنطقة الصناعية
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced opening of the second underpass within Mesaimeer Interchange with a length of 1 KM easing commuters free flow from E-Ring road heading to Industrial Area Road, starting on Friday, 6th December 2019. This opening is designed in coordination with the Traffic Department, Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The new underpass is around 1 KM in length consisting of one-way traffic with two lanes and emergency lane connecting the E Ring Road with the Industrial Area Road with a capacity of around 4000 vehicles per hour.
In the beginning of November 2019, Ashghal had opened the first underpass linking traffic between E Ring Road and Rawdat Al Khail Street, and thus two out of nine tunnels at the interchange being completed so far.
On this occasion, Eng. Hassan Al Ghanim has confirmed that the newly opened underpass is the second achievement at Messaimer Interchange after the opening of the first underpass in November, which was completed six months ahead of scheduled delivery. He also noted the speedy works of the Interchange completing 76% of total works so far.
The new underpass connects the E-Ring road with the Industrial Area Road easing commuters’ access from Al-Thumama and Old Airport areas without the need of using the existing diversion, resulting in less travel time and free flow traffic.
Temporary Traffic Diversion:
In order to complete the works in the newly opened underpass, a 12-hour closure will be implemented at Mesaimeer Interchange for traffic coming from E Ring Road towards Doha Expressway and Industrial Area Road on Friday 06/12/2019 from 1 AM until 3 PM.
Commuters from E Ring Road towards Doha Expressway and Industrial area Road can turn right on Rawdat Al Khail Street and take the U Turn at the next Roundabout to reach their destinations.
Features of Mesaimeer Interchange
The newly constructed Interchange consists of three levels, the first of its kind in Qatar, containing nine underpasses providing free flow of traffic. Besides, it contains two main bridges, one of them connecting Rawdat Al Khail Street and the Industrial Area Road and vice versa, and the other one connecting E Ring Road with Doha Expressway South in one direction, ensuring free flow traffic in all directions and connecting the main strategic roads together.
The project includes 6.1 KM length of construction works and it can intake 20,000 vehicles per hour in both directions on completion.
The Interchange will be operational by the second quarter of 2020 and will play a major role in improving the traffic movement and saving more than 60% of travel time.
تعلن هيئة الاشغال العامة “أشغال” عن افتتاح ثاني نفق بتقاطع مسيمير بطول واحد كيلومتر ليوفر تدفقا مرورياً حراً أمام القادمين من الطريق الدائري الخامس في اتجاه طريق المنطقة الصناعية، وذلك الجمعة الموافق 6\12\2019، وذلك بالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور.
يتألف النفق الجديد من مسارين في اتجاه واحد ليستوعب نحو 4000 مركبة في الساعة إلى جانب مسار آخر للطوارئ.
كانت “أشغال” قد افتتحت بداية نوفمبر 2019 ليربط الحركة المرورية بين الطريق الدائري الخامس وشارع روضة الخيل، ليصل عدد التقاطعات التي تم افتتحها حتى الآن إثنين من أصل تسعة أنفاق جار الانتهاء منها.
وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس حسن الغانم أن النفق الجديد هو ثاني إنجاز بتقاطع مسيمير بعد افتتاح أول نفق في نوفمبر الماضي حيث تم افتتاحه قبل موعده بنحو ستة أشهر لافتاً إلى أن أعمال التقاطع تسير على قدم وساق حيث تم إنجاز نحو 76% من أعمال التقاطع حتى الآن.
وأوضح أن النفق الجديد يربط الحركة المرورية القادمة من الطريق الدائري الخامس في اتجاه طريق المنطقة الصناعية مشيراً إلى أنه يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من الثمامة والمطار القديم الوصول مباشرة إلى المنطقة الصناعية دون الحاجة لاستخدام التحويلة القديمة وهو ما سيعمل على تقليص زمن الرحلة وتحقيق انسيابية مرورية كبيرة.
تحويلة مرورية:
ولوضع اللمسات الأخيرة لافتتاح النفق الجديد، سيتم تنفيذ إغلاق بتقاطع مسيمير لمدة 12 ساعة أمام الحركة المرورية القادمة من الطريق الدائري الخامس باتجاه طريق الدوحة السريع وطريق المنطقة الصناعية وذلك يوم الجمعة من 1 صباحاٌ حتى الثالثة عصراً.

الصناعية الانعطاف يمينا الى شارع روضة الخيل والدوران إلى الخلف عند الدوار التالي وصولاٌ الى وجهاتهم.
مزايا التقاطع
يعتبر التقاطع الجديد الذي يتألف من ثلاثة مستويات هو الأول من نوعه في قطر نظرا لاحتوائه على تسعة أنفاق توفر تدفقا مروريا حرا. كما يحتوي التقاطع على جسرين رئيسيين آخرين يصلان بين شارع روضة الخيل وطريق المنطقة الصناعية في كلا الاتجاهين والطريق الدائري الخامس بالجزء الجنوبي من طريق الدوحة السريع في اتجاه واحد، وهو ما سيحقق انسيابية كبيرة في حركة المرور في كافة الجهات.
يبلغ طول أعمال التقاطع 6.1 كيلومتر، ويستوعب نحو 20,000 مركبة في الساعة في الاتجاهين.
وسيعمل التقاطع الجديد عن اكتماله في الربع الثاني من 2020 على تحسين الحركة المرورية بشكل كبير ليختصر الزمن الرحلة بنحو أكثر من 60% من زمن الرحلة.
