People in Qatar to fast around 15 hours during Ramadan

Doha: The astrological calculations conducted by specialists in the Qatar Calendar House (QCH) showed that Ramadan Crescent will appear at 1:45 am Doha local time on Sunday, 5 May, which means that it is impossible to see him in the evening.
The crescent of the holy month of Ramadan this year will remain in the skies of Qatar after sunset on Sunday for 31 minutes, while the duration will increase as we go west.
The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the responsible institution to declare the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Dr Bashir Marzouk, astronomer at the Qatar Calendar House, said that the number of fasting hours during the holy month of Ramadan this year will witness a change from day to day in the State of Qatar and the rest of the Arab and Islamic countries, as a result of the dates of dawn and sunset daily.
He explained that the number of fasting hours in the State of Qatar will change during the holy month of Ramadan this year, and the minimum duration of fasting hours will be 14 hours and 38 minutes on the first day of Ramadan, and gradually increase until the maximum at the end of the holy month to reach 15 hours and nine minutes.
Dr Bashir Marzouk further added that the Muslims of Europe will have the biggest number of fasting hours in the world this year, where they will fast for about 20 hours in Norway and Sweden, 19 hours in Denmark and Germany, 18 hours in France, while Argentina will have the lowest number of fasting hours in the world this year, about 11 hours.

غد /السبت/.. وسيمكث هلال شهر رمضان المبارك لهذا العام في سماء دولة قطر بعد غروب شمس/ الأحد/ مدة قدرها إحدى وثلاثين دقيقة، بينما ستزداد تلك المدة كلما اتجهنا غربًا.
ويبقى القرار الشرعي بدخول شهر رمضان المبارك كالمعتاد من اختصاص لجنة تحري رؤية الهلال بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية.
وصرح الدكتور بشير مرزوق ،الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري، بأن عدد ساعات الصوم خلال شهر رمضان المبارك هذا العام سوف تشهد تغيرًا من يوم لآخر في دولة قطر وبقية الدول العربية والإسلامية ، ويأتي هذا التغير نتيجةً لتغير موعد أذان الفجر الصادق، وموعد غروب الشمس يوميًا عن سماء كل دولة.
وأوضح أن عدد ساعات الصيام في دولة قطر ستتغير خلال شهر رمضان المبارك هذا العام ، وستكون أقل مدة لعدد ساعات الصيام هي أربع عشرة ساعة وثمان وثلاثين دقيقة في أول أيام شهر رمضان ، ثم تزداد تدريجيًا حتى تبلغ أقصاها في نهاية الشهر الكريم لتصل إلى خمس عشرة ساعة وتسع دقائق بمشيئة الله تعالى.
وأضاف الدكتور مرزوق، أن مسلمي دول أوروبا سيكون لهم العدد الأكبر من ساعات الصيام على مستوى العالم هذا العام ، حيث ستصل مدة صيامهم إلى عشرين ساعة تقريبًا في النرويج والسويد، وحوالي 19 ساعة في الدنمارك وألمانيا، بينما ستكون ساعات الصيام في فرنسا حوالي 18 ساعة، أما سكان الأرجنتين بأمريكا الجنوبية ، فسيكون لهم العدد الأقل من ساعات الصيام على مستوى العالم هذا العام ، حيث يتراجع إلى حوالي إحدى عشرة ساعة تقريبًا.
