اللجنة العليا القطرية التونسية المشتركة تعقد اجتماعها
Tunis: The Qatari-Tunisian Supreme Joint Committee held yesterday its seventh session, chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia, Youssef Chahed, in the Tunisian capital.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Tunisian Prime Minister welcomed H E the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, stressing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and the prospects for enhancing them.
H E the Prime Minister and Interior Minister thanked his Tunisian counterpart for their hospitality, praising the strength of bilateral relations and highlighted the potential for increasing bilateral cooperation to advance the common interests of both countries and peoples.
The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies members of the delegation accompanying
H E the Prime Minister. On the Tunisian side, it was attended by a number of Ministers.
President Beji Caid Essebsi of the Republic of Tunisia met with H E the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, at the Carthage Presidential Palace.
At the beginning of the meeting, H E the Prime Minister and Interior Minister conveyed the greetings of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Tunisian President, wishing for good health and happiness and the Tunisian people further development and progress.
For his part, President Beji Caid Essebsi entrusted H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani to convey his greetings to H H the Amir, wishing him good health and happiness, and the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity.
They reviewed relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of enhancing them, as well as issues of common interest.
H E the Prime Minister and Prime Minister Chahed oversaw the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding.
They witnessed the signing of the first executive program of the cooperation agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia in the field of youth and sports for the years 2019-2020, a third executive program for the cultural and technical agreement between the governments of the two countries for the years 2019-2021, cooperation agreement in the field of maritime transport.
They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Tunisian Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar for cooperation in the field of maritime and commercial ports, a memorandum of understanding for the mutual recognition of certification for maritime seafarers between the two governments, and an agreement on air services between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed for cooperation in the areas of industrialisation, renovation, innovation and technological development. In addition to a memorandum of understanding on twinning the Municipality of Tunis and the Municipality of Doha. The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism and business events between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Tunisia.
The two sides also signed the minutes of the seventh meeting of the supreme joint committee. The signing event was attended by Their Excellencies members of the accompanying delegation. On the Tunisian side, it was attended by a number of Ministers. The Prime Minister and Interior Minister and Prime Minister Chahed held a meeting earlier to discuss developing ties, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in the region.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister also met with Tunisia’s Minister of Interior Hichem Fourati. The meeting focused on reviewing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the security field, in addition to discussing a number of issues of joint interest.
The Prime Minister also met with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Tunisia, Abdelkarim Zebidi. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral relations and the means to enhance them. The Prime Minister attended a luncheon banquet held by Prime Minister El Chahed. The Prime Minister will also participate in thirty-sixth session of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Presidential Airport in Tunis, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Prime Minister El Chahed, a number of ministers and senior officials as well as the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Tunisia, Saad bin Nasser Al Humaidi, and members of the Qatari Embassy.
عقدت اللجنة العليا القطرية التونسية المشتركة اجتماعها في دورتها السابعة، برئاسة معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، ودولة السيد يوسف الشاهد رئيس وزراء الجمهورية التونسية الشقيقة، في قصر الضيافة بالعاصمة تونس أمس.
وفي بداية الاجتماع، رحّب دولة رئيس الوزراء التونسي، بمعالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، مؤكداً على عمق الروابط الأخوية التي تجمع البلدين الشقيقين وآفاق تعزيزها.
من جانبه، شكر معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، نظيره التونسي على حسن الاستقبال والضيافة، منوهاً بمستوى العلاقات الأخوية الراسخة بين البلدين الشقيقين، وما تزخر به من فرص للتعاون الثنائي التي تعزز المصالح المشتركة للبلدين والشعبين الشقيقين.
حضر الاجتماع أصحاب السعادة أعضاء الوفد المرافق لمعاليه، ومن الجانب التونسي حضره عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء.
وكان معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، ودولة السيد يوسف الشاهد، عقدا في وقت سابق أمس لقاء ثنائياً استعرضا خلاله سبل تطوير العلاقات القائمة بجانب أبرز التطورات في المنطقة.
