Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2019: Doha ready for new season’s first ATP World Tour event

Doha : With less than three weeks to the start of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2019, the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, venue of the tournament, has started to wear a new look as the necessary branding materials are already being put in place.

The annual tennis tournament will be held from December 31, 2018 to January 5, 2019. As part of the preparations, the courts are already getting the required facelifts.

Novak Djokovic, the 2018 Wimbledon and US Open champion, tops the entry list of star players billed to feature at this year’s event. He will be joined by the likes Thiem, Nikolov Basilashvili, David Goffin, Karen Khachanov and Marco Cecchinato.

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open is one of the season opening events of the ATP World Tour. Tournament Director Karim Alami said: “Tennis fans are set to witness the best of their beloved sport once again as the world’s top players compete in Doha yet again. Qatar ExxonMobil Open has earned the reputation of being one of the best organized tournaments on the ATP tour.”

تتواصل الاستعدادات حثيثة بمجمع خليفة الدولي للتنس والاسكواش، لاستضافة النسخة الجديدة من بطولة «قطر إكسون موبيل» للرجال للتنس، التي تُقام منافساتها على ملاعب المجمع من 31 ديسمبر 2018 وحتى 5 يناير 2019.

وزادت اللجنة التنظيمية العليا للبطولة، التي يرأسها سعادة ناصر بن غانم الخليفي رئيس الاتحاد القطري، من نسق عملها وتحضيراتها استعداداً لانطلاق العد التنازلي للبطولة والشروع في استقبال اللاعبين والضيوف والإعلاميين.

وتحولت مختلف أروقة الاتحاد ومصالحه ولجانه إلى خلايا نحل حقيقية، من خلال الاجتماعات والتنسيق للاطمئنان على السير المثالي للتحضيرات كافة، وضمان نسخة مثالية للمسابقة، وذلك عبر تزيين الملاعب باللافتات والصور الدعائية، وتجهيز مختلف الفضاءات الأخرى للبطولة بالمرافق اللازمة.

ويقود الصربي نوفاك جوكوفيتش -الحاصل على لقبي بطولتي «ويمبلدون» و»أميركا المفتوحة» للتنس للعام 2018- قائمة النجوم المشاركين في البطولة، إلى جانب دومينيك تيم، ونيكولوف باسيلاشفيلي، ودافيد غوفان، وكارين خاشانوف، وماركو تشيكيناتو.

وتُعدّ بطولة «قطر إكسون موبيل» المفتوحة للتنس إحدى البطولات الافتتاحية للموسم الجديد لرابطة اللاعبين المحترفين؛ مما يزيد في أهميتها ودورها في تحضير اللاعبين للاستحقاقات المقبلة للموسم العالمي للتنس.;
