HMC events project Qatar’s rich heritage, culture

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) joined the country in celebrating the Qatar National Day with cultural and fun activities held across its network of hospitals and facilities.

Events were held under the theme ‘Qatar Will Remain Free.’ H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, attended the celebration activities, which saw participation of patients and their families, visitors, and staff. The events were symbolic of Qatar’s history, heritage, and traditions.

“Qatar National Day is an important occasion for everyone in Qatar to come together as a nation to celebrate our country and recognize how far we have come through the vision and drive of our wise leadership.

“It is also an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come in terms of healthcare in Qatar. Our facilities and services continue to develop, improve, and grow year on year and I am proud to see staff from across HMC who have all contributed to this growth paying tribute to our beloved nation,” said Dr Al Kuwari.

Commenting on HMC’s participation in Qatar National Day activities, Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer at HMC and Chair of the Ministry of Public Health’s Healthcare Communications Committee, said, “Qatar National Day is a time to celebrate Qatar – our cherished country, as well as its great leadership, which continuously inspires prosperity and a positive national spirit.

“It is also a time to reflect on our nation’s remarkable success and rich cultural identity. Qatar’s rapid rise on the world stage has been underpinned by a spirit of unity, harmony, determination, and progress, driven by our nation’s leaders and their wise and far-reaching vision.”

On December 13 staff from a number of HMC hospitals took part in a Flag Relay organised by the Qatar Olympic Committee. A wide range of recreational and cultural activities were organised for patients, families, and staff across HMC to showcase Qatar’s rich traditions and history. Some hospitals displayed Qatari crafts and folklore, with others organizing performances highlighting the various aspects of Qatari culture.

Some facilities treated visitors and patients to a traditional café offering Qatari cuisine. There were also silent character performances, henna artists, and traditional poetry recitals Qatar National Day celebrations at Al Khor Hospital, Hamad General Hospital, Wakra Hospital, The Cuban Hospital, and Hazm Mubaireek Hospital took place on December 16, with celebratory events held at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center, Qatar Rehabilitation Center, Ambulatory Care Center, and the Human Resources, Engineering, and Transportation Departments yesterday.

Staff from HMC’s Ambulance Service and the Hamad Injury Prevention Program (HIPP), the community outreach arm of the Hamad Trauma Center, took part in Qatar National Day activities at Darb Al Saai.

Representatives of HMC’s Ambulance Service educated the public about the key messages of its ‘Know the 5 to Save a Life’ national awareness campaign and provided visitors with information on the importance of road safety.

احتفلت مؤسسة حمد الطبية بإطلاق عدة فعاليات وأنشطة تراثية متنوعة في كل مرافق الرعاية الصحية التابعة لها، بمناسبة اليوم الوطني؛ تحت شعار: «قطر ستبقى حرة». وقد شاركت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري وزيرة الصحة العامة، في فعاليات الاحتفال التي شهدت مشاركة واسعة من المرضى وعائلاتهم والزوار والموظفين، حيث جسدت تلك الفعاليات الإرث الوطني وثقافة المجتمع القطري وتقاليده العريقة.

وفي تعليق لها حول الفعاليات الاحتفالية التي نظمتها مؤسسة حمد الطبية، قالت سعادة الدكتورة حنان الكواري: «اليوم الوطني لدولة قطر مناسبة عزيزة على قلوب الذين يعيشون على تراب دولة قطر، ويحتفلون فيها جميعاً بهذا البلد المعطاء، وما تم إنجازه بفضل الرؤية السديدة لقيادتها الرشيدة، ويعدّ هذا اليوم فرصة للتفكير فيما تمّ تحقيقه على صعيد الرعاية الصحية في الدولة، فالمرافق والخدمات الصحية تواصل مسيرة التطوّر والتحسين عاماً بعد عام».

وأضافت: «وإنه لمن دواعي الفخر والاعتزاز أن نرى كوادرنا من مختلف مرافق المؤسسة الذين أسهمت جهودهم في نمو ونهضة القطاع الصحي وهم يحتفلون من خلال هذه الفعاليات بدولة قطر، وما حققته من إنجازات، وما نراه في هذه الفعاليات تعبير عن الاحتفاء بالتاريخ والتراث القطري، وعن الالتزام بترسيخ ثقافة المجتمع الصحي في قطر».

من جانبه، قال السيد على عبدالله الخاطر، رئيس لجنة الاتصال العليا للرعاية الصحية، والرئيس التنفيذي للاتصال المؤسسي في مؤسسة حمد الطبية: «بينما تعبّر الفعاليات التي أقامتها مؤسسة حمد الطبية للاحتفال باليوم الوطني لدولة قطر عن الاعتزاز بالتاريخ والتراث القطري، فإنها تعبّر في الوقت ذاته عن أهمية هذا اليوم في تعزيز أواصر العلاقة بين أفراد المجتمع وموظفي المؤسسة والمرضى، وقد أُتيحت لكل من حضر هذه الفعاليات فرصة التواصل والتعبير عما يجمعهم من حبّ لهذا الوطن، واعتزاز بالانتماء إليه».

وأضاف السيد الخاطر: «اليوم الوطني لدولة قطر مناسبة عزيزة نحتفل فيه بوطننا الحبيب، وقيادته الرشيدة، التي طالما كانت مصدر إلهام لنا في مسيرتنا نحو التقدّم والازدهار، كما يعدّ هذا اليوم بمثابة فرصة نلتفت فيها النظر إلى ما تمّ تحقيقه من نجاحات، وما كان لقطر أن تحتلّ مركزاً مرموقاً بين دول العالم لو لا روح الوحدة والوئام التي تسود مجتمعنا القطري، والتي يعود الفضل فيها إلى الله تعالى، ثم إلى الرؤية الثاقبة لقيادتنا، تلك الروح التي يعتزّ بها كل العاملين في مؤسسة حمد الطبية، الذين يسيرون على خطا الآباء والأجداد في بناء قطر ونهضة شعبها، فهم يسهمون دوماً في تقدم هذا الوطن بما يبذلونه من جهود حثيثة في سبيل تقديم أفضل مستوى ممكن من الرعاية الصحية لكل المرضى، وضمان الرفاه الصحي للجميع».;
