Difi participates in inaugural UN youth forum in Morocco

The Doha International Family Institute (Difi), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), participated in an event titled ‘The Youth Forum in the Arab Region’, held in Morocco from December 19 to 21.

The inaugural forum was organised by United Nations Population Fund and the World Organisation of the Scout Movement, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Morocco and the Mediterranean Forum for Youth – Morocco.

Dr Anis Ben Brik, director of Family Policy Department, Difi, moderated a workshop at the forum titled ‘Elements of the envisaged new and inclusive narrative for young people in the Arab region.’ Bringing together young people from 22 different countries, the workshop addressed the current and future status of the youth in families and society.

Dr Ben Brik presented frameworks for promoting renewed and inclusive dialogues on the youth in the Arab world, including successfully shifting from school to the labour market, family formation, and facilitating the youth’s participation in the development of their respective nations.

Additionally, within the workshop, attendees discussed the views, priorities, and aspirations of Arab youth on a number of subjects, including: family, education, work, culture, health, immigration, security, justice, women, and community and political participation. The workshop concluded with the adoption of new and comprehensive elements to develop a proposed new narrative on youth in the Arab region.

Difi is a global policy and advocacy institute working to advance knowledge on Arab families through research and promote evidence-based polices at a national, regional, and international level. The institute has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

شارك معهد الدوحة الدولي للأسرة، عضو في مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، في المنتدى الأول للشباب في العالم العربي خلال الفترة من 19-21 ديسمبر الحالي بمدينة أصيلة بالمملكة المغربية.

جاء تنظيم المنتدى بالمشاركة بين صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان (UNFPA) والمنظمة العالمية للحركة الكشفية بالشراكة مع وزارة الشباب والرياضة في المغرب، والمنتدى المتوسطي للشباب بالمملكة المغربية.

وجاءت مشاركة المعهد ضمن ورشة عمل تحت عنوان: «نحو خطاب متجدد وشامل حول الشباب» جمعت شباباً من 22 دولة، تمحورت حول الوضع الحالي والمستقبلي للشباب في الأسرة والمجتمع، وتخلل الورشة عرض أطر لتعزيز خطاب متجدد وشامل حول الشباب في العالم العربي وكيفية انتقالهم من مرحلة التعليم إلى سوق العمل، وتكوين أسرة وتحقيق مشاركة شاملة في التنمية.

وقد أدار الحوار خلال الورشة الدكتور أنيس بن بريك، مدير إدارة السياسات الأسرية في معهد الدوحة الدولي للأسرة.

كما جرى خلالها مناقشة مرئيات وأولويات وتطلعات الشباب العربي حول قضايا الأسرة، والتعليم، والعمل، والثقافة، والصحة، والهجرة، والأمن، والعدل، والمرأة، والمشاركة المجتمعية والسياسية.

وخلصت الورشة إلى تبني عناصر جديدة وشاملة لتطوير خطاب ومقترح جديد وشامل حول الشباب في المنطقة العربية.

ويعد معهد الدوحة الدولي للأسرة معهداً عالمياً معنياً بوضع السياسات، وتنظيم فعاليات التوعية الداعمة للقاعدة المعرفية بشأن الأسرة العربية، وتعزيز السياسات الأسرية القائمة على الأدلة.

ويشكل المعهد جزءاً من مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، ويتمتع بوضع استشاري خاص مع المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي التابع للأمم المتحدة.;
