Katara, GPDNet in cultural diplomacy tie-up
كتارا ومعهد يونس إمره يضعان برنامجا تعاونيا في مجال الدبلوماسية الثقافية
DOHA: Several projects in the field of cultural diplomacy were discussed at a meeting between Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, and Dr Sheref Atesh, President of Yunus Emra Institute (YEI) and Head of Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPDNet), yesterday in Ankara, Turkey.
A preliminary plan for a cooperative programme in public diplomacy between Cultural Village Foundation-Katara and GPDNet was among the topics discussed during the meeting which was held in the framework of a cultural cooperation between Katara and YEI.
This collaboration comes within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation signed by Katara and YEI last year to enhance communication and exchange of experiences and knowledge in the field of international cultural diplomacy through the implementation of bilateral projects and support of joint programs.
The programmes aim to broaden relations between nations and peoples in order to deepen understanding and promote peace around the world.
Last year, Qatar, represented by Katara, became the first Arab country to be granted full membership of GPDNet.
التقى سعادة السيد يافوز سليم ، نائب وزير الخارجية التركي، والدكتور شرف أتش رئيس معهد يونس إمره ورئيس الشبكة الدبلوماسية العامة العالمية في الرئاسة التركية، هنا اليوم مع الدكتور خالد بن إبراهيم السليطي، المدير العام للمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي كتارا.
وجرى خلال اللقاء مناقشة عدة مشاريع ذات علاقة بمجال الثقافة الدبلوماسية، بما في ذلك وضع خطة أولية لبرنامج تعاوني في مجال الدبلوماسية العامة بين الحي الثقافي والشبكة العالمية للدبلوماسية.
ويأتي هذا التعاون ضمن مذكرة التعاون التي وقعتها المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي كتارا ومعهد يونس أمره في وقت سابق، بغية تعزيز التواصل وتبادل الخبرات والمعرفة في ميدان الدبلوماسية الثقافية العالمية، وذلك من خلال تنفيذ المشاريع الثنائية ودعم البرامج المشتركة، كما أن هذا التعاون المشترك يفتح آفاقا واسعة في تدعيم العلاقات بين الدول والشعوب، من أجل تعميق التفاهم وتعزيز السلم عبر العالم.
