Prime Minister visits Qatar Media Corporation

HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani on Thursday visited Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), where he was briefed on its strategy and future projects.

The visit included Qatar TV, Channel 37, Qatar Radio as well as the foreign channels.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed the important role media and media personalities in Qatar play in facing the changes and challenges transparently, honestly, and ethically.

He also appreciated the efforts of the people in charge of Qatar Media Corporation, calling on everyone to continue doing their best to serve the country.

The Prime Minister was accompanied during the visit by CEO of Qatar Media Corporation HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani.

Qatar Media Corporation is the official broadcasting authority for the State of Qatar.

As a corporation, QMC was established in 2009 to oversee media services in numerous TV and radio channels that include: Qatar TV Channel, Alkass Sports Channels, Qatar Radio, Quraan Kareem Radio, QBS Radio, Oryx FM Radio, Urdu Radio, and Sout Al Khaleej Radio.

Equipped with the slogan “Keeping up with what’s new and to our values we commit” and a media orientation that serves the ends of Qatar National Vision 2030, QMC vigorously pursues the latest developments in media updates and technologies in the third millennium with media content that accommodates development and preserves the culture and identity of the State and its community.

قام معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، أمس، بزيارة إلى المؤسسة القطرية للإعلام اطلع خلالها على خططها الاستراتيجية وأبرز مشاريعها المستقبلية.

وشملت زيارة معاليه للمؤسسة، القيام بجولة في تلفزيون قطر وموقع قناة 37 وإذاعة قطر، والإذاعات الأجنبية.

وبهذه المناسبة أكد معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، على أهمية دور الإعلام والإعلاميين في دولة قطر لمواجهة التغيرات والتحديات، والقيام بدورهم الإعلامي بكل شفافية ومصداقية ومهنية. مثمناً الجهود التي يبذلها القائمون على المؤسسة، وحاثاً الجميع على مواصلة الجهود والعطاء خدمة للوطن.;
