Qatar Airways to become Boca Juniors’ new shirt sponsor

DOHA: Qatar Airways is further strengthening its sporting partnerships around the world with the announcement that from the upcoming season (2018/19) it will become the Official Jersey Sponsor of the world-renowned Argentinian football club the Boca Juniors through the 2022/23 season.

The new partnership further strengthens Qatar Airways’ global partnership portfolio and will see the airline’s logo proudly appear on the club’s jerseys, allowing the Qatar Airways brand to be seen by millions of football fans around the world, while championing the airline’s belief of sports as a means of bringing people together.

Qatar Airways has long celebrated strong ties with the South American continent, where it flies daily to São Paulo and to the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, since 2010. Qatar Airways Group further strengthened these ties in December 2016 through a strategic investment by acquiring 10 per cent of South American LATAM Airlines Group.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways is delighted to partner with world-renowned Football Club Boca Juniors as we enhance our sporting sponsorship portfolio with the world’s best teams. Qatar Airways is already renowed for championing sport as a means of connecting communities around the world. Qatar itself celebrates a dedicated National Sports Day each year, while the airline already partners with other football club giants such as leading German football team FC Bayern Munich AG, of which it is a Platinum Partner, and as announced in April, as Main Global Partner of AS Roma, with the airline’s logo appearing on the team’s shirts.
Qatar Airways is also the Official Airline Partner of FIFA, which includes 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, the FIFA Club World Cup™, the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™, as well as the Formula E electric street racing series.

وتتمتع «القطرية» بعلاقات متينة مع قارة أميركا الجنوبية، حيث تسيّر رحلات يومية إلى العاصمة البرازيلية ساو باولو، والعاصمة الأرجنتينية بوينس آيرس منذ عام 2010. كما عززت «القطرية» من التزامها تجاه القارة بإنجاز استثمار استراتيجي ينص على الاستحواذ على 10% من مجموعة خطوط لاتام الجوية.

وتشتهر الخطوط الجوية القطرية بتركيزها على الرياضة كوسيلة لجمع الشعوب معاً من شتى أنحاء العالم، فيما تحتفل كل عام باليوم الرياضي للدولة، من خلال تنظيم العديد من الأنشطة الرياضية. وأبرمت «القطرية»، مؤخراً، اتفاقية شراكة مع فريق بايرن ميونيخ الألماني لكرة القدم، لتصبح الشريك البلاتيني للنادي. كما أعلنت «القطرية» في شهر أبريل الماضي أنها أصبحت الشريك العالمي الرئيسي لفريق روما الإيطالي لكرة القدم، حيث سيظهر شعار الناقلة على قمصان فريق روما الإيطالي لكرة القدم.

وترعى «القطرية» العديد من بطولات الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «FIFA» بصفتها الشريك والطيران الرسمي للاتحاد، بما في ذلك بطولة كأس العالم روسيا 2018 FIFA، وكأس العالم للأندية FIFA، وكأس العالم للسيدات FIFA، وكأس العالم قطر 2022 FIFA. كما ترعى «القطرية» سلسة سباقات فورمولا إي للسيارات الكهربائية. وتشغّل «القطرية» أسطول طائرات حديث يضم أكثر من 200 طائرة تتجه إلى أكثر من 150 وجهة رئيسية للعمل والسياحة في أوروبا، والشرق الأوسط، وإفريقيا، ومنطقة آسيا، والمحيط الهادئ، وأميركا الشمالية، وأميركا الجنوبية.;
