The two Koreas are reaching agreements as Arab world divides: Al Jazeera Chairman

Doha: Chairman of the board of the Al Jazeera Media Network Sheikh Hamad Bin Thamer Al Thani expressed Saturday his great surprise that while the two Koreas converge, despite the eternal and deep-rooted conflict between them, the Arab world is deep in divisions, noting that the GCC crisis fabricated by the blockading countries has hit the core of the GCC.
This came during his speech at the opening of the 12th edition of Al Jazeera Forum, which is held under the theme “The Gulf, the Arabs and the World amid Current Developments” in Doha, attended by a large number of politicians, opinion leaders, experts, thinkers and analysts.
He said that in light of the exceptional circumstances in which the Arab world is undergoing which see increased foreign intervention in the region, the Arab countries should have joined together rather than move apart. He stressed that the crisis has cost the peoples and countries of the region a great deal, Arab conflict in general.
Sheikh Hamad Bin Thamer stressed that the crisis created by the blockading countries added another burden to Arabs and contributed to the re-discussion of what were considered givens of Arab national security and the Arab countries’ ties, regional alliances, and global transformations, pointing out that the blockade crisis was a blow to the GCC and a threat to its future.
He pointed out that the problem experienced by the GCC as a result of the recent crisis has led to an issue of trust among the GCC countries that was felt at the popular level as well, which made the situation of the Gulf countries more difficult. He noted that the crisis in the region is currently deep and warned the greatest danger was the involving of the people, contrary to previous disputes which were limited to the leaders and politicians only.
The Chairman of the Board of Al Jazeera network said that the crisis led to great losses on the political level in terms of harming morale and confidence that the GCC people have in the council as a tool for coordination and unity. He stressed that as a result of the blockade imposed on the State of Qatar, any country can consider joining other countries to sanction a different country regardless of how the latter’s people would suffer.
Sheikh Hamad Bin Thamer said that 2017 witnessed a number of important events and developments on various levels. The most prominent of these was the wide range of foreign interventions in Arab affairs, the transformation of the Arab region into a regional and international arena, and the outbreak of the Gulf crisis. He noted that the latter was part of international goals that made the situation in the Arab world even more complicated. He added that the current forum will be a great opportunity to put the urgent Arab issues and to develop solutions.
He pointed out that Al Jazeera Network has always organized this forum because of the network’s commitment to examining the political, economic, social and other aspects that are of interest to the Arab people. He expressed his hope that this forum will serve as a platform for dialogue and discussion of the various issues of the region and their impact, particularly the blockade and the discussion of the dangerous developments in the world and their impact on the Arab region in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the peoples of the region allows them to take the right positions.
أبدى سعادة الشيخ حمد بن ثامر آل ثاني رئيس مجلس إدارة شبكة الجزيرة استغرابه الشديد مما يحدث من تقارب بين الكوريتين الشمالية والجنوبية رغم الصراع الأزلي والمتجذر بينهما وما يعتري عالمنا العربي من تفرق وإيجاد شروخ عميقة بين دوله ، مشيرا إلى أن الأزمة الخليجية المفتعلة من دول الحصار أصابت منظومة مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية في الصميم.
جاء ذلك خلال كلمته في افتتاح النسخة الـ 12 من منتدى الجزيرة والذي ينعقد تحت عنوان “الخليج.. العرب والعالم في سياق التطورات الجارية” اليوم بالدوحة بحضور عدد كبير من السياسيين وقادة الرأي والخبراء والمفكرين والمحللين ويستمر يومين.
وأضاف سعادة الشيخ حمد بن ثامر آل ثاني أنه في ظل الظرف الاستثنائي الذي يمر به العالم العربي من زيادة التدخل الخارجي في المنطقة كان ينبغي على الدول العربية أن تتكاتف ولا تتفرق فقد كلفت هذه الأزمة شعوب ودول المنطقة الكثير، ليس على صعيد التعاون فحسب بل على الصعيد العربي بصورة عامة.
وأكد سعادته أن الأزمة التي افتعلتها دول الحصار أضافت هما آخر للهموم العربية وأسهمت في إعادة النقاش بشأن مسلمات الأمن القومي العربي وعلاقات الدول العربية بالتحالفات الإقليمية والتحولات العالمية موضحا أن أزمة الحصار المفتعلة كانت بمثابة ضربة في صميم مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية وتهديد لمستقبلة .
ولفت إلى أن الإشكالية التي يمر بها مجلس التعاون نتيجة الأزمة الأخيرة أثارت أزمة ثقة بين دول المجلس وصلت إلى مستوى الشعوب وهذا ما زاد من صعوبة الموقف الذي تعيشه دول الخليج منوها إلى أن الأزمة التي تعيشها المنطقة حاليا عميقة والخطر الأكبر فيها هو زج الشعوب بها خلافا للأزمات السابقة التي كانت لا تتعدى القادة والحكومات والسياسيين وأن ذلك وأثر بشكل كبير في الثقة بين شعوب المنطقة وقياداتها مما يحتاج إلى جهد كبير والكثير من العمل لإصلاحه مستقبلا.
وأشار رئيس مجلس إدارة شبكة الجزيرة إلى أن لهذه الأزمة خسائرها الفادحة التي نجمت عنها على المستوى السياسي فقد أضرت بالثقة التي توليها شعوب دول المجلس له كأداة تنسيق وتوحيد حاضرا ومستقبلا مؤكدا أنه نتيجة لأزمة الحصار الجائر على دولة قطر فإنه يمكن لأي دولة أن تفكر في التكتل مع مجموعة دول لمعاقبة دولة أخرى أو محاصرتها أو اتخاذ أي إجراء ضدها بغض النظر عما يمكن أن تتعرض له الشعوب.
وتابع سعادة الشيخ حمد بن ثامر بأن عام 2017 شهد عددا من الأحداث والتطورات المهمة على صعد مختلفة كان أبرزها اتساع نطاق التدخلات الأجنبية في الشأن العربي وتحول المنطقة العربية إلى ساحة تدافع إقليمي ودولي كما أضاف اندلاع أزمة الخليج التي أثارتها دول الحصار مزيدا من المشاكل الكبيرة في المناخ العربي المتأزم أصلا إضافة إلى أهداف دولية أخرى أثرت على مجرى الأحداث في المنطقة العربية حتى بات الوضع فيها أشد تعقيدا وبدا مستقبلها مفتوحا على كل الاحتمالات ، مبينا أن منتدى الجزيرة يعد فرصة كبيرة لطرح القضايا العربية الملحة ووضع الحلول والعلاج الناجع لها بشفافية وصراحة وصدق .
وأوضح أن شبكة الجزيرة دأبت على تنظيم هذا المنتدى لما توليه من أهمية لتدارس الأوضاع السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية وغيرها من الجوانب التي تهم الإنسان العربي بكل صراحة ووضوح معربا عن أمله أن يشكل هذا المنتدى منصة حوار ونقاش لقضايا المنطقة المختلفة وأثر ما يجري فيها خاصة ما يترتب على أزمة الحصار وكذلك مناقشة ما يجري في العالم من تطورات خطيرة وأثرها على المنطقة العربية وذلك لتحقيق فهم أعمق لشعوب المنطقة يتيح لهم اتخاذ المواقف الصحيحة.
