٨٫٧ مليون مسافر عبر مطار حمد في الربع الأول
DOHA: Hamad International Airport (HIA) has reportedly served a total of 8.72 million passengers in the first quarter (Q1) of 2018. HIA has also handled 52,250 aircraft movements and 514,299 tonnes of cargo in total from January to March 2018.
HIA has served 3.04 million passengers in January, 2.68 million in February and 3 million in March, which includes passengers arriving, departing and transferring through the airport. The airport also handled 17,937 aircraft movements in January, 16,204 movements in February and 18,109 movements in March, which includes total number of aircraft take-offs and landings at the airport. HIA has also handled 514,299 tonnes of cargo in Q1, 2018, with 168,156 tonnes in January, 160,776 tonnes in February and 185,366 tonnes in March, which signifies a marked increase from the previous year.
HIA’s 2018 summer schedule is slated to be busy with many of its foreign airlines increasing their weekly flights to Doha. HIA will also be serving approximately 15 new destinations this summer.
In Q1, HIA has received two ISO certifications; ISO/IEC 20000 which is the highest global standard for IT Service Management as well as ISO 55001:2014 certification, the international standard for asset management , making Qatar’s airport the first in the Middle East to achieve this accreditation.
During the first quarter, HIA also won multiple awards and accolades at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2018 held in March 2018. The airport ranked the fifth ‘Best Airport in the World’, moving up one place from last year. HIA was also awarded the title of ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for the fourth year in a row and ‘Best Staff Service in the Middle East’ for the third year in a row.
HIA was recognised as the fourth ‘Best Airport for Shopping’, moving up one position from the previous year and fifth ‘Best Airport for Dining’ for the second consecutive year.
HIA has been ranked first in the category of ‘Best Airport in 30-40 Million Passengers’ for the third consecutive year and sixth in the category of ‘Best Airport for Transit Passengers’ for the second consecutive year; milestones made possible by the 35 million passengers that the airport has hosted since 2017. Finally, HIA further ranked third ‘Best Airport Leisure Amenities’ maintaining its position from last year and ninth ‘Best World’s Cleanest Airport’ moving up one place from last year’s Skytrax World Airport Awards.
The awards recognise HIA’s commitment to the highest environmental standards and to responsible business practices as well as innovative facilities, five-star customer service and state-of-the-art terminal.
Hamad International Airport has welcomed 120 million passengers since the beginning of its operations in May 2014 until the end of 2017. The airport served 35.27 million passengers and handled 222,321 aircraft movements in 2017 alone.

وقدم مطار حمد الدولي خدماته لنحو 3،035،469 مسافر في يناير، و2،682،074 في فبراير و3،007،253 في مارس، والتي تشمل القادمين والمغادرين والعابرين عبر المطار، كما تعامل المطار مع 17،937 حركة طائرات في يناير و16،204 حركة في فبراير و18،109 حركة في مارس، والتي تشمل إجمالي عدد عمليات إقلاع الطائرات وهبوطها في المطار، كما تعامل المرفأ الجوي مع 514،299 طن من البضائع في الربع الأول من عام 2018، و168،156 طن في يناير، و160،776 طن في فبراير و185،366 طن في مارس، مسجلاً زيادة ملحوظة في الأرقام مقارنة مع العام السابق.
يتوقع أن يكون جدول الرحلات الجوية في المطار مزدحماً لموسم الصيف 2018 مع زيادة الرحلات الأسبوعية للعديد من شركات الطيران الأجنبية إلى الدوحة.;
