Ashghal Announces 135 Percent Increase in Qatarization Rate

Doha: The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced that the number of Qatari employees in the authority has more than doubled over the past 4 years with an increase of 135 percent.

The number of Qatari engineers has also increased up to 163 percent. There are currently 425 Qatari engineers in Ashghal who are employed with a scholarship or as a replacement / Qatarization plan followed by Ashghal in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The Authority is making great efforts to increase the Qatarization percentage.

Saif Ali Al Kaabi, Manager of Human Resources Department, stated that one of Ashghal’s strategic goals is to increase the number of qualified Qatari employees and develop their capabilities and competencies through our development and training programs. He explained that the authority’s role extends beyond constructing roads, bridges, drainage networks, and governmental establishments buildings; but it also responsible of developing the capabilities of Qatari employees, training and qualifying them to be able to manage and operate these assets and increase their efficiency.

Qatari employees are a key element in ‘Ashghal’ and its future leaders. During the past few years, ‘Ashghal’ has focused on relying on Qatari competencies and reducing the dependency on foreign expertise. Additionally, Ashghal dedicates special efforts to provide employment opportunities and a suitable work environment for Qatari employees.

الدوحة في 15 فبراير // أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ عن زيادة عدد الموظفين القطريين بالهيئة خلال الأربع سنوات الماضية إلى أكثر من الضعف وبنسبة زيادة تصل إلى 135 بالمئة.

وأوضحت /أشغال/، أن نسبة المهندسين القطريين ارتفعت أيضا إلى أكثر من 163 بالمئة، حيث يوجد حاليا 425 مهندسا قطريا بالهيئة وذلك نتيجة لخطة الابتعاث والإحلال والتوطين المتبعة بالهيئة بما يتماشى مع رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.

وقال السيد سيف علي الكعبي مدير إدارة الموارد البشرية في الهيئة اليوم، إن من أهداف /أشغال/ الاستراتيجية هو زيادة عدد الموظفين القطريين الأكفاء وتطوير قدراتهم وكفاءتهم من خلال برامج التطوير والتدريب المتبعة بالهيئة.

وأشار إلى أن /أشغال/ ركزت خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية على الاعتماد على الكفاءات والكوادر القطرية، وتقليل الاعتماد على الخبرات الأجنبية، مبينا أن الهيئة تكرس كافة جهودها من أجل توفير فرص التوظيف وبيئة العمل الملائمة للموظفين القطريين كونهم المحرك الرئيسي للهيئة والقادة المستقبليين.
