Community College of Qatar Offers Synchronous Lectures

Doha: The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) announced that it has adopted the synchronous online teaching method, along with face-to-face teaching, since the beginning of the spring semester, as part of the College’s efforts to support the learning needs of students under home quarantine.
Synchronous teaching allows instructors to deliver lectures in person to students who attend class on campus, and at the same time, broadcast the lectures online to students who are under home quarantine, so that they can interact with the instructor and participate in the classroom discussions.
Dr. Khalid Al Abdulqader, CCQ Vice President, stressed that CCQ is keen on providing students with an all-round learning experience, and that was the reason for introducing synchronous online lectures that maintain interaction between students and their instructors and help quarantined students follow their study plan.
He added that the method is currently available for all courses, as CCQ organized workshops and prepared orientation materials for instructors and students to acquaint them with the new teaching method and ensure a smooth and effective educational process.
The synchronous teaching method resulted in 100% attendance in all on-campus lectures, including students attending remotely from their homes.
The lectures are recorded and uploaded to Blackboard as a reference for students, in case they faced any difficulty in attending the lecture synchronously.

الدوحة: أعلنت كلية المجتمع، أنها اعتمدت نظام المحاضرات الآنية بداية من فصل الربيع الحالي، وذلك حرصا منها على استيعاب الطلبة الذين يخضعون للحجر المنزلي في ضوء تطورات الوضع الوبائي.
ويعتمد هذا النظام على إلقاء عضو هيئة التدريس للمحاضرة في قاعة الدراسة بوجود الطلبة الحاضرين، وفي الوقت نفسه بث المحاضرة للطلبة في منازلهم خلال فترة الحجر المنزلي، الأمر الذي يتيح لهم التفاعل المباشر مع أستاذ المقرر ومتابعة النقاشات التي تجري أثناء المحاضرة والمشاركة فيها.
وقال الدكتور خالد العبدالقادر نائب رئيس كلية المجتمع في قطر، إن الكلية حريصة على توفير تجربة تعليمية متكاملة لطلابها، مضيفا “من هنا جاءت فكرة اعتماد نظام المحاضرات الآنية، الذي يتميز بالحفاظ على التفاعل المباشر بين الأستاذ والطالب ويضمن عدم تأثر خطة الطالب الدراسية بظروف حجره المنزلي”.
وأفاد بأن الكلية قامت بتعميم هذا النظام على جميع مقرراتها في الوقت الحالي، كما عقدت ورشا مكثفة وأعدت مواد إرشادية لكل من أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلبة بهدف تعريفهم بالنظام وضمان انتظام العملية التعليمية.
وأشار إلى أن اعتماد نظام المحاضرات الآنية ضمن تحقيق نسبة حضور 100% لكل المحاضرات المنعقدة بمباني الكلية، بما في ذلك الطلبة الحاضرون بقاعات الدراسة والمنضمين لتلك المحاضرات عن بعد من الحجر المنزلي.
كما لفت إلى أن المحاضرات يتم تسجيلها وتوفيرها عبر نظام “بلاكبورد” لتكون مرجعا للطلاب في حالة مواجهة أي صعوبات خلال متابعة المحاضرة من المنزل.
