Immunity after recovery from COVID-19 lasts up to 9 months: Dr. Al-Bayat

Doha: Dr. Soha Al-Bayat, Head of the Vaccination Department at the Ministry of Public Health, revealed that individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 acquire immunity for a period of up to nine months.
“The person recovering from the virus has acquired immunity and has antibodies for a period of up to 9 months, but it begins to decline after 6 months, according to studies and clinical research that have proven this.” Dr. Al-Bayat told Al Raya.
“The recovering person can receive the booster dose after 6 months of recovery from the virus, and if he has not received the vaccine in the first place, he can begin to obtain the first, second and third doses according to the time periods specified by the Ministry of Public Health”. She added.

الدوحة: كشفت الدكتورةُ سهى البيات رئيس قسم التّطعيمات بوزارة الصحة العامة أنَّ فترة الحصانة التي يتمتع بها المتعافون من فيروس كورونا «كوفيد-19» هي تسعة أشهر.
وقالت د. البيات، في تصريح لـ الراية: إنَّ المتعافي من الفيروس حصل على مناعة ولديه أجسام مضادة تصل مدتها إلى 9 أشهر، لكنها تبدأ في الانخفاض بعد 6 أشهر وَفقًا للدراسات والأبحاث السريرية التي أثبتت ذلك.
وأضافت: إنه يمكن للمتعافي أن يحصل على الجرعة المعزّزة بعد مرور 6 أشهر من تعافيه من الفيروس، وفي حال لم يكن قد حصل على اللقاح من الأساس فإنّه يبدأ بالحصول على الجرعات الأولى والثانية والثالثة وَفقًا للفترات الزمنية المحدّدة من قبل وزارة الصحة العامّة.
