More mobile cameras deployed to catch high speed violators

Doha: As part of the General Directorate of Traffic’s plans to reduce traffic accidents, more mobile cameras have been deployed to catch vehicles plying at very high speed.

“The excessive speed is one of the main causes of accidents that result in fatalities and severe injuries, and in order to reduce traffic accidents, more mobile radars have been deployed on all internal and external roads to catch such violations,” said First Lieutenant Rashid Khamis Al Kubaisi from the Radar section of the Traffic Safety Department.

The civil and police patrols have also been intensified, with the aim of monitoring vehicle driven at very high speed using patrol’s mobile radar, Al Kubaisi warned motorists.

Speaking on a video published on the General Directorate of Traffic’s twitter account, he said the penalty for excessive speed is to book the vehicle and refer the motorist to the concerned authorities to complete legal procedures.

The department stressed on the need to abide by traffic rules especially driving under the allowed speed limit.

شددت الإدارة العامة للمرور على أهمية الالتزام بالسرعات المحددة على الطرق مشيرة إلى أنه تم تكثيف دوريات الرادارات المتحركة على جميع الطرق الداخلية والخارجية في إطار خططها لخفض الحوادث المرورية.

وقال الملازم أول راشد خميس الكبيسي ضابط الرادار المتحرك، في فيديو نشرته الإدارة العامة للمرور عبر حسابها في تويتر، إن “الإدارة العامة للمرور تشدد على أهمية الالتزام بالسرعات المحددة على الطرق حيث تعتبر السرعة الزائدة والجنونية من أبرز مسببات الحوادثالمرورية التي تنجم عنها وفيات وإصابات بليغة”.

وأضاف: في إطار خطط الإدارة العامة للمرور الرامية إلى خفض الحوادث المرورية تم تكثيف الرادارات المتحركة على جميع الطرق الداخلية والخارجية، كما تم تكثيف الدوريات المدنية والعكسرية بهد ف رصد مخالفات السرعة الزائدة من خلال الرادرات المتحركة.

ونوه الملازم أول راشد خميس الكبيسي بأن فيما يخص عقوبات السرعة الزائدة “الصفرية” يتم حجز المركبة وتحويلها قائدها إلى الجهات المختصة لاستكمال الإجراءات القانونية.
