MoI arrests suspects in assault on family during National Day celebrations

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials have arrested boys from the viral video that showed them spraying foam on a family while walking in a public place.  

In a press release it stated that referring to the video clip circulating on social media, which shows a number of young people spraying a substance on a family while they were walking on the side of the road, the competent authorities of the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest the accused. 

The officials stated that the names of the accused, whose ages ranged between 12-15 years, are not revealed in view of their ages. They are being referred to the competent authority to complete its procedures followed in such cases, stated the Ministry statement. 

The Ministry of Interior assured the public that its relevant agencies will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to maintain order and societal security, especially with regard to cases of assault, inconvenience or harassment. 

It further warned that the authorities will also publish names and pictures of the aggressors in the future to prevent the recurrence of such acts.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة الداخلية عن ضبط المتهمين في حادثة الاعتداء على عائلة في الطريق أثناء احتفالات اليوم الوطني .

وقالت الوزارة – على حسابها الرسمي بموقع تويتر – “بالإشارة إلى مقطع الفيديو المتداول عبر وسائط التواصل الاجتماعي والذي يُظهر قيام عدد من الشباب باستخدام مادة الرش على عائلة أثناء سيرهم على جانب الطريق، قد تمكنت الجهات المختصة بوزارة الداخلية من ضبط المتهمين في الحادثة المشار إليها والذين تتراوح أعمارهم ما بين (12- 15) عاماً، موضحة أنها تتحفظ على ذكر أسمائهم نظراً لأعمارهم.

وأضافت الوزارة أنه “جاري إحالتهم لجهة الاختصاص لاستكمال إجراءاتها  في مثل هذه الأحوال”.

وفي رسالة للجمهور، أكدت الوزارة أن أجهزتها المعنية سوف لن تتواني في اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لكل ما من شأنه حفظ النظام والأمن المجتمعي وبخاصة كل ما يتعلق بحالات الاعتداء أو الازعاج أو التحرش، بما في ذلك نشر أسماء وصور المعتدين مستقبلًا منعا لتكرار مثل هذه الأفعال.

وتداول رواد مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي مقطع فيديو يظهر اعتداء مجموعة من الشباب على عائلة تمارس رياضة المشي في أحد الأماكن العامة.

ويظهر في المقطع المتداول، نزول شابان من إحدى السيارات حاملين عبوات بها مادة بيضاء (بخاخات) كانا يستخدمانها للاحتفال باليوم الوطني وقاموا برشها تجاه العائلة، فيما كان آخر يجلس فوق السيارة ويصور تفاصيل الواقعة.
