Ashghal to open new parks in the coming period

The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” revealed to Al-Sharq that the Supervising Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in the country opened Al Daayen and Al Ebb parks during the current year. It is expected that the next few years will witness the opening of a number of parks that will contribute to attracting residents and pushing them to engage in healthy activities, in addition to increasing the proportion of green spaces in the country.

* Al Daayen Park
The works implemented in Al Daayen Park included the construction of a 2,455-meter-long pedestrian path, a 780-meter-long bike path, the planting of 344 trees, the planting of grassy areas on an area of 27,469 square meters, and the provision of 38 garden furniture. Aesthetic lighting was also added to cover the service buildings to enhance the design concept of the park and link it to the Qatari identity. The illumination arrangement was in such a way that the light falls on metal partitions to create shades that depict the movement of the caravan behind its herdsman. The aesthetic lighting was employed to be a special place for taking memorial photos and to give the garden a distinctive look. The park also includes areas designated for children’s games, and a sports area, in addition to the fact that the park facilities are eligible for use by people with special needs. A prayer place and toilets were also provided, in addition to providing aesthetic and dimly lit lighting poles in the garden to provide privacy.

* Al Ebb Park
Al-Ebb Park was opened after carrying out a number of works in it, including a pedestrian path of 727 meters long, a bike path of 310 meters long, 1,157 meters of grassy areas, 238 square meters of green areas, 106 trees and the provision of 7 garden furniture. The Supervising Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality, seeks to increase green areas in different places in the country, with different areas. As the large lands are allocated to implement central parks, while the smaller spaces are allocated to Al-Furjan gardens and green squares. These projects contribute to creating a healthy outlet in the middle of cities, and encourage individuals to spend quality time away from closed buildings. These spaces also improve the aesthetic appearance of areas and streets, in addition to their positive impact on the environment.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipality has allocated land of about 39,000 square meters to establish a new park in the municipality of Al-Daayen to serve the residents of the area and surrounding areas. The committee also works in coordination with several ministries and government agencies in the country, such as the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Culture, the Museums Authority, the Qatar Railways Company, the private engineering office and others.

The committee aims to humanize cities. Its vision is to create a balance between man and the environment and to change the car-dominated culture into a pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly society, and its mission is to provide public spaces and services that help foster a healthier lifestyle. Since the vision is shared with other entities in the country, it works hand in hand with them to increase green areas in cities and neighborhoods, and provide a network of safe paths for pedestrians and bicycles, the committee is also working on developing beaches and outdoor destinations such as public squares and parks, developing downtown Doha and the Corniche, providing street furniture, bicycle parking and aesthetic lighting poles, in addition to displaying artworks and sculptures in roads and outdoor spaces.

كشفت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” لـ الشرق أن لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالدولة افتتحت حديقتي الظعاين والعب خلال العام الحالي. ومن المنتظر أن تشهد الفترة القليلة القادمة افتتاح عدد من الحدائق تساهم في استقطاب السكان ودفعهم لممارسة أنشطة صحية، بالإضافة إلى زيادة نسبة المساحات الخضراء في الدولة.

* حديقة الظعاين
وتضمنت الأعمال التي تم تنفيذها في حديقة الظعاين إنشاء ممر للمشاة بطول 2,455 مترا، ومسار للدراجات الهوائية بطول 780 مترا، وزراعة 344 شجرة، وزراعة مسطحات عشبية على مساحة 27,469 مترا مربعا، وتوفير عدد 38 من أثاث للحدائق.

كما تمت إضافة إضاءة تجميلية لتغطية المباني الخدمية لتعزيز مفهوم التصميم للحديقة وربطه بالهوية القطرية من خلال تسليط الأضواء على قواطع معدنية لتعكس من خلالها ظلال لتشكل القافلة وهي تسير ومن أمامها الراعي. وقد تم توظيف الإضاءة التجميلية لتكون مكانا مميزا لالتقاط الصور التذكارية ولإضفاء شكل مميز للحديقة.

وتتضمن أيضاً الحديقة مناطق مخصصة لألعاب الأطفال، ومنطقة للألعاب الرياضية، بالإضافة إلى أن مرافق الحديقة مؤهلة للاستخدام من قبل ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة. وتم من خلال المشروع أيضاً توفير مصلى ودورات مياه، بالإضافة لتوفير أعمدة إنارة تجميلية وذات إضاءة خافتة بالحديقة لتمتاز بالخصوصية.

* حديقة العب
تم افتتاح حديقة العب بعد تنفيذ عدد من الأعمال فيها تضمنت مسارا للمشاة بطول 727 مترا طوليا، ومسارا للدراجات الهوائية بطول 310 أمتار، وزراعة مسطحات عشبية بواقع 1,157 مترا، ومسطحات خضراء على مساحة 238 مترا مربعا، وزراعة 106 أشجار وتوفير عدد 7 من الأثاث للحدائق.

وتسعى لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية لزيادة المسطحات الخضراء في أماكن مختلفة بالدولة، وبمساحات مختلفة. حيث إن الأراضي الكبيرة يتم تخصيصها لتنفيذ حدائق مركزية، في حين أن المساحات الأصغر يتم تخصيصها لحدائق الفرجان والساحات الخضراء. وتساهم هذه المشروعات في خلق متنفس صحي وسط المدن، وتشجيع الأفراد على قضاء وقت ممتع بعيداً عن المباني المغلقة، كما تحسن هذه المساحات من الشكل الجمالي للمناطق والشوارع، بالإضافة إلى تأثيرها الإيجابي على البيئة.

ويجدر الذكر أن وزارة البلدية كانت قد قامت بتخصيص أرض بمساحة تبلغ حوالي 39 ألف متر مربع، لإنشاء حديقة جديدة في بلدية الظعاين، لخدمة سكان المنطقة والمناطق المحيطة.

كما تعمل اللجنة بالتنسيق مع عدة وزارات وهيئات حكومية بالدولة كوزارة البلدية، ووزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي، ووزارة المواصلات، ووزارة الثقافة، وهيئة المتاحف، وشركة سكك الحديد القطرية، والمكتب الهندسي الخاص وغيرهم. وتهدف اللجنة لإضفاء الطابع الإنساني على المدن. وتتمثل رؤيتها في خلق توازن بين الإنسان والبيئة وتغيير الثقافة التي تهيمن عليها السيارات إلى مجتمع صديق للمشاة وراكبي الدراجات الهوائية، وتتمثل مهمتها في تقديم مساحات وخدمات عامة تساعد على تبني أسلوب حياة صحي أكثر.

ونظراً لأن الرؤية مشتركة مع الجهات الأخرى في الدولة، فإنها تعمل معهم يداً بيد على زيادة المسطحات الخضراء في المدن والأحياء، وتوفير شبكة مسارات آمنة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية، كما تعمل اللجنة على تطوير الشواطئ والوجهات الخارجية كالساحات والحدائق العامة، وتطوير وسط الدوحة والكورنيش، وتوفير أثاث الشوارع ومواقف الدراجات الهوائية وأعمدة الإنارة التجميلية، بالإضافة إلى عرض أعمال ومجسمات فنية في الطرق والمساحات الخارجية.
