Ministry of Culture Launches “Reading Space” Initiative

Doha: The Ministry of Culture launched a new initiative titled “Reading Space”, in cooperation with Qatar Reads, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.

This initiative, organized by the Ministry’s Libraries Department in Lagoona Mall, is scheduled to continue until Feb. 22, 2022.

The Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture Jassim Al Buainain said that the initiative is being held within the framework of keenness to strengthen the community of young readers and their families.

This comes within a series of partnerships that are held between the Ministry of Culture and Qatar Reads, pointing out that the initiative is scheduled to circulate in several different places during the coming period, where coordination will be made with several authorities, such as public parks, complexes, and various tourist places, to be in the middle of the most crowded places, he stressed.

Many surprises are awaiting the children and their families if they wish to visit this cultural forum, he explained. He also noted that there is a great variety in the books available in the reading space, which target all segments of society.

Through its cooperation with the Department of Libraries in the Ministry of Culture, Qatar Reads aims to raise the habit of reading nationwide in a comprehensive, attractive and appropriate manner, showing new ways of seeing the world from different perspectives.

الدوحة: أطلقت وزارة الثقافة مبادرة جديدة بعنوان /مساحة للقراءة/، وذلك بالتعاون مع مبادرة /قطر تقرأ/ التابعة لمؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع.

ومن المقرر أن تستمر تلك المبادرة التي تنظمها إدارة المكتبات بالوزارة في /لاجونا مول/ حتى 22 فبراير 2022.

وقال السيد جاسم البوعينين مدير إدارة المكتبات بوزارة الثقافة إن المبادرة تقام في إطار الحرص على تعزيز مجتمع القراء الصغار وعائلاتهم.

وأكد أنها تأتي ضمن سلسلة من الشراكات التي تم عقدها بين وزارة الثقافة و/قطر تقرأ/، لافتاً إلى أنه من المقرر أن يتم تعميم تلك الفكرة في عدة أماكن مختلفة خلال الفترة المقبلة، حيث سيتم التنسيق مع عدد من الجهات كالحدائق العامة والمجمعات والأماكن السياحية المختلفة بغرض التواجد وسط أكثر الأماكن التي تشهد تواجدا جماهيريا.

وأوضح أن هناك العديد من المفاجآت ستكون في انتظار الأطفال وأسرهم إذا ما رغبوا في التواجد ضمن هذا المحفل الثقافي، مشيراً إلى أن هناك تنوعا كبيرا من حيث الكتب المتواجدة في مساحة القراءة، والتي تستهدف كافة فئات المجتمع، وذلك من أجل أن تعم الفائدة على كافة أفراد الأسرة التي ستصاحب الأطفال عند الزيارة.

وتهدف /قطر تقرأ/ من تعاونها مع إدارة المكتبات في وزارة الثقافة إلى إذكاء حب القراءة على مستوى البلاد بطريقة شاملة وجذابة وملائمة، وهدفها توعية السكان من جميع الأعمار والثقافات والخلفيات بأهمية القراءة حيث تأخذهم المبادرة في كافة فعالياتها إلى رحلة معرفية تفضي بهم إلى اهتمامات وموضوعات وأفكار جديدة، وتدلهم على طرق جديدة لرؤية العالم من مناظير مختلفة.
