Demands for tighter control over enterprises that do not deal in Arabic

Doha: A number of academics and Arabic language experts have stressed the importance of finding a clear mechanism for the preservation and protection of the Arabic language.
In a poll for Al-Sharq, they asserted that people who lose their language lose their national identity.
They called for the immediate implementation and activation of Law 7 of 2019 on the protection of the Arabic language and the obligation of government agencies to protect and enshrine the language in all activities, events, correspondence, SMS and messages on social media.
“Requiring ministries, government agencies and agencies to use Arabic ensures their protection.” they added
They noted that the law did not indicate who had the right to judicial control in order to bring those who violated the law to the judiciary.
Academics and experts blamed foreign schools for the weakness of Arabic among new generations..
Experts pointed to Qatar’s efforts to protect and promote the Arabic language in many fields, especially among school students, considering Arabic as a pillar of Qatar’s curriculum.

الدوحة: شدد عدد من الأكاديميين وخبراء اللغة العربية على أهمية إيجاد آلية واضحة لحفظ اللغة العربية وحمايتها.
وأكدوا في استطلاع لـ الشرق أن الشعب الذي يفقد لغته يفقد هويته الوطنية.
ودعوا إلى تنفيذ فوري وتفعيل للقانون رقم 7 لسنة 2019 بشأن حماية اللغة العربية وإلزام الجهات الحكومية بحماية اللغة وتكريسها في كافة الأنشطة والفعاليات والمراسلات والرسائل القصيرة والرسائل على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. حيث أن إلزام الوزارات والجهات والأجهزة الحكومية والهيئات باستعمال اللغة العربية يضمن حمايتها.
وأشاروا إلى أن القانون لم يبين الجهة التي لها حق الضبطية القضائية من أجل تقديم الجهات والمؤسسات التي تخالف القانون للجهات القضائية.
وينحو الأكاديميين والخبراء باللائمة على المدارس الأجنبية لأنها حسب رأيهم هي سبب ضعف اللغة العربية لدى الأجيال الجديدة.
ولفت الخبراء إلى الجهود التي تبذلها قطر لحماية اللغة العربية وتعزيزها في العديد من المجالات لاسيما لدى طلاب المدارس، باعتبار اللغة العربية ركيزة من ركائز المناهج التعليمية في قطر.
