Education Minister: Shura Council Elections are a Qualitative Leap in the Country’s Legislative Work

Doha: HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulwahed Al Hamadi stressed that the Shura Council elections which took place today represent a qualitative leap in the field of legislative work in the country, as it expands popular participation.
His Excellency, in remarks made to Qatar News Agency (QNA), described the day as historic and noted that the Shura Council elections are taking place for the first time since it was established back in 1972.
He added that he has no doubts that the council in its new image will help realize the ambitions and the aspirations of the Qatari people, and will work on conveying the concerns of citizens transparently to decision makers, which will improve the performance of the government.
His Excellency greeted and thanked HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, on this new move in the journey of sustainable development in the State of Qatar.
His Excellency also thanked and greeted HE the Prime minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, and those overseeing the election process for their distinguished efforts.
His Excellency also congratulated the Qatari citizens for their active and positive participation in this democratic process, and for practicing their right freely in choosing their representatives in the Shura Council, and their commitment to ensure the elections come out in the best possible manner.

الدوحة: أكد سعادة الدكتور محمد بن عبدالواحد الحمادي وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي، أن انتخابات مجلس الشورى التي جرت يوم أمس تمثل نقلة نوعية في مجال العمل التشريعي في البلاد، من خلال توسيع المشاركة الشعبية.
وقال سعادته، في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/، إن هذا اليوم تاريخي، حيث يشهد أول انتخابات لمجلس الشورى منذ تأسيسه عام 1972.
وأضاف: “لا شك في أن المجلس بصورته الجديدة سيعزز من تحقيق طموحات وآمال الشعب القطري، وسيعمل على إيصال هموم المواطنين بكل شفافية إلى متخذي القرار، وسيرفع من أداء الحكومة”.
وتقدم سعادته بالتهنئة إلى حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، وإلى سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن حمد آل ثاني نائب الأمير، على هذه الخطوة المباركة في مسيرة العمل الوطني والتنمية الشاملة لدولة قطر.
كما توجه سعادته بالشكر والتحية إلى معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، وللقائمين على العملية الانتخابية على جهودهم المتميزة.
كما هنأ سعادته المواطنين القطري على وعيهم ومشاركتهم الفاعلة والإيجابية في هذه العملية الديمقراطية، وممارسة حقهم بكل حرية في اختيار من يمثلهم في مجلس الشورى الموقر، وحرصهم على أن تخرج الانتخابات في أفضل صورة.
