MoPH Marks Seventh Qatari Patient Safety Week

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) is celebrating the seventh Qatar Patient Safety Week, 17-23 September, with the theme “Safe maternal and newborn care”
In this context, the MoPH is launching a virtual awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness among healthcare providers and the public, in addition to organizing a virtual conference on patient safety and the health sector’s resilience and ability to deal with various challenges, in addition to spreading patient safety awareness messages on social media platforms with a focus on the theme of this year’s celebration.
Several landmarks in Qatar will also be illuminated in orange on Sep. 17, 2021, in conjunction with the World Patient Safety Day, as a symbolic gesture in recognition of the central role of patient safety efforts in countries seeking to achieve universal health coverage and safe maternal and newborn care.
The 7th Qatar Patient Safety Week is a national initiative organized by the MoPH as an awareness-raising channel to disseminate patient safety concepts among all healthcare providers as well as the public in the State of Qatar.
This year, Qatar Patient Safety Week aims to engage healthcare leaders and providers in developing effective and innovative policies, strategies and measures to advance maternal and neonatal safety, as well as promoting communication between these leaders, healthcare providers and patients, through education and awareness raising, as well as advocating urgent and sustainable action by all stakeholders to scale up efforts and ensure safe maternal and newborn care, particularly during childbirth, endorse and adopt best practices at the point of care to protect all women and newborns from avoidable risks and harms during childbirth.

الدوحة: تنظم وزارة الصحة العامة، الأسبوع القطري السابع لسلامة المرضى، يوم غد /الجمعة/ وحتى 23 سبتمبر الجاري تحت شعار /الرعاية الآمنة للأم والوليد/.
وبهذه المناسبة تطلق الوزارة حملة توعوية افتراضية تهدف إلى زيادة الوعي لدى مقدمي الرعاية الصحية والجمهور، بالإضافة إلى تنظيم مؤتمر افتراضي حول سلامة المرضى، ومرونة وقدرة القطاع الصحي على التعامل مع التحديات المختلفة، وكذا بث رسائل توعوية عن طريق مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لزيادة الوعي حول سلامة المرضى والتركيز على موضوع الاحتفال لهذا العام.
وستتم كذلك إضاءة المعالم الحضارية والأماكن العامة في الدولة باللون البرتقالي بعد غد بالتزامن مع اليوم العالمي لسلامة المرضى، وهو ما يمثل العلامة المميزة لهذا الاحتفال، حيث ترمز الإضاءة هذا العام إلى الدور المحوري لسلامة المرضى في جهود البلدان الرامية إلى تحقيق التغطية الصحية الشاملة وسلامة الأمهات والمواليد.
ويعد الأسبوع القطري السابع لسلامة المرضى مبادرة وطنية أطلقتها وزارة الصحة العامة كقناة لزيادة الوعي ونشر مفاهيم سلامة المرضى بين جميع مقدمي الرعاية الصحية وكذلك الجمهور في دولة قطر.
ويهدف الأسبوع القطري لسلامة المرضى هذا العام إلى إشراك قادة ومقدمي الرعاية الصحية في تطوير سياسات واستراتيجيات وتدابير فعالة ومبتكرة لتطوير سلامة الأمهات والمواليد، وتعزيز التواصل بين هؤلاء القادة ومقدمي الرعاية الصحية والمرضى، وذلك بالتعليم ونشر الوعي، وكذلك الدعوة إلى اتخاذ إجراءات عاجلة ومستدامة من قبل جميع أصحاب المصلحة، لتوسيع نطاق الجهود وضمان رعاية مأمونة للأمهات والمواليد، لا سيما أثناء الولادة، وتأييد واعتماد أفضل الممارسات في أماكن الرعاية لوقاية جميع النساء والمواليد من المخاطر والأضرار التي يمكن تفاديها أثناء الولادة.
