14-day quarantine for unvaccinated contacts in schools: Dr. Jamila Al-Ajami

Doha: Dr. Jamila Al Ajami, Senior Consultant of Infectious Diseases, Executive Director of the Infection Control Department of Hamad Medical Corporation, confirmed that contacts of Coronavirus patients in schools, whether students, teachers or staff, are detected if suspected of Covid-19 infection, through the surveillance team of the Ministry of Public Health, in coordination with the school administration, and parents are informed of the condition and procedures that the school will carry out.

Dr. Al-Ajami clarified on “Our Lives” program broadcast on Qatar TV, that contacts are divided into two types: the vaccinated, and those who have contracted the disease during the past three months, and have no symptoms, and these are excluded from quarantine, and will be examined «pcr» on the third day of contact, but contact cases that did not receive vaccination will be quarantined for 14 days, with a «pcr» test carried twice immediately after contact and on the seventh day, in addition to the continuous follow-up of the Ministry of Public Health not to show any Symptoms within 14 days.

She called for clean hands, adherence to safety and infection prevention procedures and continued adherence to basic preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Hand-shaking and physical communication are among the most prominent ways germs and viruses can be easily transmitted from person to person. By keeping hands clean, it can help prevent the transmission of germs from person to person and among members of the entire community in different locations, whether in homes, workplaces, hospitals or schools, she said.

الدوحة: أكّدت الدكتورةُ جميلة العجمي، استشاري أوّل الأمراض المعدية، المُديرُ التنفيذي لإدارة مُكافحة العدوى بمؤسّسة حمد الطبية، حصرَ الحالات المخالطة لمصابين بفيروس كورونا في المدارس سواء من الطلبة أو المعلمين أو الموظفين حال الاشتباه في عدوى «كوفيد-19»، من خلال فريق الترصد التابع لوزارة الصحة العامة، بالتنسيق مع إدارة المدرسة، وإبلاغ أولياء الأمور بالحالة والإجراءات التي ستقوم بها المدرسة. وأوضحت د. العجمي، لبرنامج «حياتنا» المُذاع على تلفزيون قطر، أن الحالات المخالطة تنقسم إلى نوعَين: المُطعمَين، ومن أُصيبوا بالمرض خلال الأشهر الثلاثة الماضية، ولا يوجد عندهم أعراض، وهؤلاء يتم استثناؤُهم من الحجر الصحي، وسيتم عمل فحص «pcr» ثالث يوم من المخالطة، أما الحالات المخالطة التي لم تحصل على التطعيم فسوف يتم حجرها لمدة 14 يومًا، مع إجراء فحص «pcr» مرتين بعد المخالطة مباشرةً وفي اليوم السابع، بالإضافة للمتابعة المستمرة من وزارة الصحة بعدم ظهور أي أعراض خلال مدة ال 14 يومًا.

ودعت إلى الحرص على نظافة اليدَين والالتزام بإجراءات السلامة والوقاية من العدوى ومواصلة الالتزام بالتدابير الوقائية الأساسية لمنع انتشار الفيروس. وأوضحت أن المصافحة باليدَين والتواصل الجسدي يُعدّان من أبرز الطرق التي يمكن أن تنتقل بها الجراثيم والفيروسات بسهولة من شخص لآخر.. مُشيرةً إلى أنه من خلال المُحافظة على نظافة اليدَين يمكن المساهمة في منع انتقال الجراثيم من شخصٍ لآخرَ وبين أفراد المجتمع بأكمله في المواقع المختلفة سواءً كان ذلك في المنازل أو أماكن العمل أو المُستشفيات أو المدارس.
