Rome: HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie has been elected Vice-Chairperson of the 43rd Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference, which began Saturday and will run through July 7 in Rome, under the title “Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment and Better Life” The conference is discussing a host of important issues, including the role of trade in securing diverse foods to ensure global food security in times of crisis, climate changes and food resource prices, in addition to the extended humanitarian crises in Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria and other countries, as well as the promotion and development of technological and digital innovations in the agricultural fields, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
HE the Minister of Municipality is heading Qatar’s delegation to the conference.
The 43rd FAO Conference is expected to produce a number of important decisions and recommendations related to global food security and food crises around the world.
The Conference provides a vital platform for leaders, experts and stakeholders from around the world to engage in discussions focused on food security, agriculture and sustainable development.
Founded on Oct. 16, 1945, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger and improve nutrition and food security.

روما: انتخب سعادة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبد العزيز بن تركي السبيعي وزير البلدية، نائبا لرئيس الدورة الثالثة والأربعين لمؤتمر منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة /فاو/ التي بدأت أعمالها اليوم وتستمر حتى السابع من يوليو الجاري في العاصمة الإيطالية روما تحت عنوان “إنتاج أفضل، وتغذية أفضل، وبيئة أفضل، وحياة أفضل”.
ويناقش المؤتمر عددا من القضايا الهامة، منها دور التجارة في تأمين الأغذية المتنوعة لضمان الأمن الغذائي العالمي في أوقات الأزمات، والتغيرات المناخية وأسعار الموارد الغذائية، إضافة إلى الأزمات الإنسانية الممتدة في اليمن والسودان وأفغانستان وسوريا وغيرها من الدول، فضلا عن تعزيز وتطوير الابتكارات التكنولوجية والرقمية في المجالات الزراعية، بما يحقق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.
ويرأس سعادة وزير البلدية وفد دولة قطر المشارك في أعمال المؤتمر.
ومن المتوقع أن يتخذ المؤتمر عددا من القرارات والتوصيات الهامة التي تتعلق بالأمن الغذائي العالمي والأزمات الغذائية الممتدة حول العالم.
وتتيح الدورة الثالثة والأربعين لمؤتمر منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة منبرا حيويا للقادة والخبراء وأصحاب المصلحة من شتى دول العالم للمشاركة في المناقشات التي تركز على الأمن الغذائي والزراعة والتنمية المستدامة.
يذكر أن منظمة الأغذية والزراعة /فاو/ هي وكالة متخصصة تابعة للأمم المتحدة تقود الجهود الدولية للقضاء على الفقر وتحسين الأمن الغذائي العالمي، كما تعمل على ضمان حصول الجميع على أغذية كافية وآمنة ومغذية مع تعزيز الزراعة المستدامة والتنمية الريفية.
