Within a month.. A French professor predicts the end of the Coronavirus

Since the outbreak of the new Coronavirus began at the end of last year and until today, the point when it will stop spreading has occupied public opinion and has become the most widely circulated question in the world today, but the director of the Institute of the University of Marseille Hospital for Infectious Diseases, French Professor Didier Raoul, said that he is optimistic about the end of the Corona pandemic.”

The French professor, who became a celebrity in France in a few weeks, on Tuesday posted a new video in which he said: “We now have in Marseille a steady decline in the number of cases diagnosed, but also in the number of cases hospitalized in intensive care, but in terms of the number of deaths, it is not predictable now, because people often die more than a month after infection,” according to the US channel “Free”

“We have the same data in many regions of the world, and often the proportions are equal in one way or another,” Professor Raoul said.

“We have the same data in France, and in most countries of Europe and North America, the epidemic is disappearing,” he said.

Raoul is based on the global figures for the Corona pandemic, which give the general impression that most countries are reaching the peak stage, and that the downward curve in the number of infections and therefore deaths is approaching, describing these data as a “downward wave”, which dictates the end of the pandemic.

“I don’t expect the future, but if things continue like this, we have the impression that this disease, like any seasonal disease, is on its way to extinction,” Raoul said when asked about the truth of his prediction and the scientific foundations on which he is based, speaking in a French newspaper. “It’s possible that in a month there will be no more cases at all in most countries,” he said. 

Professor Didier Raoul drew attention about two months ago, after calling on the authorities in France to adopt chloroquine as a treatment for the new coronavirus, and says he is the first to recommend the medicine in the world.

For their part, French see Professor Didier Raúl as “tweeting out of the squadron”, as commented by one critic on social media after refusing to participate in the Scientific Council, which advises French President Emmanuel Macron to fight the new Coronavirus.

U.S. health experts, including Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauchi, cautioned against acknowledging that the drug is capable of treating corona, and called for further studies.

A study of 150 patients in China showed that the drug does not appear to help treat the virus, but in turn helps relieve some clinical symptoms.

The new Coronavirus has claimed at least 174,000 lives worldwide since it appeared in December in China. More than 2 million and 525 thousand confirmed cases have been diagnosed in 193 countries and regions since the outbreak began.

منذ بدء تفشي فيروس كورونا المستجد  نهاية العام الماضي وحتى اليوم، شغل موعد توقف انتشاره الرأي العام الدولي، بل وأصبح التساؤل الأكثر تداولا بالساحة العالمية حاليا ، إلأ أن مدير معهد مستشفى جامعة مرسيليا للأمراض المعدية، البروفيسور الفرنسي ديدييه راوول، قال إنه يتفاءل خيرا بقرب نهاية جائحة كورونا “.

 ونشر البروفيسور الفرنسي الذي أضحى من المشاهير في فرنسا في غضون أسابيع قليلة،، الثلاثاء ، مقطع فيديو جديد قال فيه  : “لدينا الآن في مرسيليا انخفاض مستمر في عدد الحالات التي تم تشخيصها، ولكن أيضًا في عدد الحالات التي يتم إدخالها إلى المستشفى في العناية المركزة، أما من حيث عدد الوفيات، فلا يمكن التنبؤ الآن، لأن الناس غالبا ما يموتون بعد أكثر من شهر من الإصابة” بحسب قناة “الحرة ” الأمريكية.

 وأضاف البروفيسور راوول “لدينا نفس البيانات في مناطق عدة عبر العالم، وأحيانا كثيرة تتعادل النسب بشكل أو بآخر “.مشيرا إلى “لدينا نفس البيانات في فرنسا، وفي معظم دول أوروبا وأميركا الشمالية، الوباء في طريقه إلى الزوال”.

 ويستند راوول إلى الأرقام العالمية لجائحة كورونا، والتي تعطي انطباعا عاما ببلوغ أغلب الدول مرحلة الذروة، وقرب بداية هبوط منحنى عدد الإصابات وبالتالي الوفيات ، واصفا تلك المعطيات بـ”الموجة الهبوطية” التي تنذر بقرب نهاية الجائحة.

و أوضح راوول  عندما سئل عن حقيقة تنبؤه والأسس العلمية التي يستند إليها متحدثا لإحدى الصحف الفرنسية ،  “أنا لا أتوقع المستقبل، ولكن إذا استمرت الأمور على هذا النحو، فلدينا انطباع بأن هذا المرض، كأي مرض موسمي، في طريقه إلى الزوال”. متابعا حديثه “من المحتمل أنه في غضون شهر لن تكون هناك حالات أخرى على الإطلاق في معظم الدول “. 

ولفت البروفيسور ديدييه راوول الأنظار قبل نحو شهرين، إثر دعوته السلطات في فرنسا إلى اعتماد دواء الكلوروكين كعلاج لفيروس كورونا المستجد، ويقول عن نفسه إنه أول من نصح بذلك في العالم.

من جهتهم ينظر فرنسيون إلى البروفيسور ديدييه راوول على أنه “يغرد خارج السرب” كما علقت إحدى المنتقدات له على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، إثر رفضه المشاركة في المجلس العلمي الذي يقدم المشورة للرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون لمكافحة فيروس كورونا المستجد.

أما خبراء الصحة في الولايات المتحدة الأميركية، ومن بينهم مدير المعهد الوطني للحساسية والأمراض المعدية الدكتور أنتوني فاوتشي، حذروا من التسليم بأن العقار قادر على علاج  كورونا، ودعوا إلى مزيد من الدراسات.

وكانت  دراسة قد أجريت على 150 مريضا في الصين، أثبتت أن العقار لا يبدو أنه يساعد في علاج الفيروس، لكنه يساعد بالمقابل في تخفيف بعض الأعراض السريرية.

الجدير بذكره أن  فيروس كورونا المستجدّ أودى بحياة ما لا يقلّ عن 174 ألف شخص في العالم منذ ظهوره شهر ديسمبر في الصين.وشُخّصت أكثر من مليونين 525 ألف إصابة مؤكدة في 193 دولة ومنطقة منذ بداية تفشي الوباء.
