Explained: Conditions for selecting countries to travel to with the start of 3rd phase

The Ministry of Health announced today the start of the third phase of the plan to lift restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus “Covid 19” on Tuesday, July 28, after it was scheduled to launch on Saturday (August 1st), in light of positive indications that Qatar’s efforts in response to the pandemic have been successful.
Dr. Abdullatif Al-Khal, Head of the National Strategy Group for The Response to Coronavirus and Head of The Transitional Diseases Department at Hamad Medical Corporation, advised at a press conference this evening not to travel this year and spend the summer holidays in the State.
“If a person exits his/her home environment, he/she loses control of the external environment and makes him vulnerable to infection, especially for the elderly and those with chronic diseases,” he said.
“If this step is to be taken, before traveling, the person must look for low-risk countries and check the quarantine requirements and while traveling, the person must take preventive measures throughout his stay outside the country, maintain hygiene, wash the hands, clean the rooms and reduce the presence in crowded areas and closed areas as much as possible, and before returning it is recommended to conduct a PCR test to reduce the procedures inside Doha International Airport.”
As Eid al-Adha approaches, which comes a few days after the start of the third phase of the plan to lift restrictions, Dr. Al-Khal stressed the need to take all preventive measures during the coming period, and to fully comply with all necessary measures and precautions during prayers, social visits, shopping and mixing, with strict preventive measures when visiting the elderly and those with chronic diseases, and reducing the periods of visits and gatherings as much as possible.
Dr. Abdullatif Al-Khal explained that the small number of infected people and the decline of the virus “confirms that we are moving in the right direction and reflects the efforts of the state and the Ministry of Public Health and the cooperation of members of the community by following precautionary measures and health guidelines,” he said, noting that if the situation continues in this way, the virus will be eliminated.
He stressed that in the case of laxity and non-compliance with health guidelines, the virus will return followed by a rise in infections ,”especially as we are approaching an important religious and social occasion in Eid al-Adha,”he warned that the return of the disease in the form of a second wave is linked to the follow-up of individuals to the guidelines, especially since the virus will not be eliminated completely, so the state strives to obtain vaccinations as soon as they are commercially available.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة اليوم عن بدء المرحلة الثالثة من خطة رفع القيود المفروضة بسبب فيروس كورونا “كوفيد ـ 19” بعد غد الثلاثاء الموافق 28 يوليو، بعد أن كان مقرراً انطلاقها السبت 1 أغسطس، في ضوء المؤشرات الإيجابية التي توضح نجاح جهود قطر في التصدي للجائحة.
وبشأن السفر إلى الخارج، نصح الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال، رئيس المجموعة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتصدي لفيروس كورونا ورئيس قسم الأمراض الانتقالية في مؤسسة حمد الطبية، خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد مساء اليوم بعدم السفر هذا العام وقضاء عطلة الصيف داخل الدولة.
وأوضح أن “خروج الإنسان من بيئته الأصلية يفقده السيطرة على البيئة الخارجية ويجعله عرضة للعدوى خاصة كبار السن وأصحاب الأمراض المزمنة”.
وأضاف “إن كان ولابد من اتخاذ هذه الخطوة فيجب على الإنسان قبل السفر البحث عن الدول ذات المخاطر المنخفضة والتأكد من اشتراطات الحجر الصحي وأثناء السفر يجب على الشخص اتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية طوال فترة تواجده خارج البلاد والحفاظ على النظافة العامة وغسل الأيدي وتطهير غرف الإقامة وتقليل التواجد في المناطق المزدحمة والأماكن المغلقة قدر الإمكان، وقبل العودة ينصح بإجراء فحص الـ”بي سي آر” لتقليل الإجراءات داخل مطار الدوحة الدولي “.
ومع اقتراب عيد الأضحى الذي يأتي بعد أيام قليلة من بدء المرحلة الثالثة لخطة رفع القيود، شدد الدكتور الخال على ضرورة اتخاذ كافة التدابير الوقائية خلال الفترة المقبلة، والالتزام التام بكافة التدابير والاحتياطات اللازمة خلال أداء الصلوات والزيارات الاجتماعية والتسوق والاختلاط، مع اتباع الإجراءات الوقائية الصارمة عند زيارة كبار السن وذوي الأمراض المزمنة، وتقليل فترات الزيارات والتجمعات قدر الإمكان.
وأوضح الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال أن قلة عدد المصابين وانحسار الفيروس “يؤكد أننا نسير في الاتجاه الصحيح ويعكس جهود الدولة ووزارة الصحة العامة وتعاون أفراد المجتمع باتباع الإجراءات الاحترازية والإرشادات الصحية”، مشيراً إلى أنه إذا استمر الوضع على هذا المنوال فسيتم القضاء على الفيروس.
وشدد على أنه في حالة التراخي وعدم الالتزام بالإرشادات الصحية فسوف يعود الفيروس متبوعا بارتفاع حالات الإصابة “خاصة ونحن مقبلون على مناسبة دينية واجتماعية هامة هي عيد الأضحى المبارك”، منبها إلى أن عودة المرض في صورة موجة ثانية مرتبط باتباع الأفراد للإرشادات خاصة وأن الفيروس لن يتم القضاء عليه نهائيا لذلك تسعى الدولة جاهدة للحصول على التطعيمات فور توافرها بشكل تجاري.
