QFC CEO: Accelerated Digital Transformation has Provided many Investment Opportunities

Doha: The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Chief Executive Officer Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida stressed that “With the accelerated digital transformation happening across a range of sectors, businesses have many opportunities to choose from, and what will set them apart is how smartly they choose their next expansion destination by exploring new frontiers.”
The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), sponsored a virtual event produced by Bloomberg Media, entitled, New Digital Frontiers: Leveraging Opportunities for Global Expansion, which discussed how US companies, at the forefront of digitalization, can best take advantage of the array of business opportunities in Qatar and provide the conditions needed for their success.
Al Jaida said that as an emerging financial hub, Qatar offers a range of new business expansion and innovation opportunities to companies from around the world, especially those from across the United States, presenting an ideal gateway for them to set up locally and expand to the wider markets of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.”
Al Jaida continued: “The US is one of the global leaders in the digital, FinTech, sports and media sectors, and the Qatar Financial Centre is an ideal entryway to such US firms to access Qatars innovation ecosystem. Given Qatars fast-paced economy, there is a great potential for US companies to set up operations here, especially since Qatar is on track for more growth leading up to the FIFA World Cup 2022, and beyond.”
Speaking as part of the panel discussion, Smoothing the Path: The Needs of US Digital Companies When Going Global, HE Managing Director of Business Development QFC Sheikha Alanoud Bint Hamad Al-Thani, commented “Qatar has developed a long history as a hub between different worlds, and we continue to embrace that today as an international hub for doing business.
As such, the Qatar Financial Centre is an effective springboard for businesses setting up in Qatar to foray into emerging markets with enormous potential for digital growth including but not limited to Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Setting up at the Qatar Financial Centre is your first and most effective start to international firms expansion journey from the US to the wider region.” Sheikha Alanoud added.
The virtual event, which featured leading experts in the fields of technology, digitalization and business, also explored how increased acceleration of digitalization, in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), is creating an extraordinary need to innovate products and services. Speakers further explored how US companies can leverage their expertise and influence to seize the opportunities arising out of the non-traditional players such as Qatar, Singapore and Luxembourg as they gain traction in the global marketplace as new types of digital and financial hubs.

ونوه السيد الجيدة في كلمة بندوة افتراضية عقدها مركز قطر للمال ونظمتها قناة /بلومبيرغ/ الأمريكية تحت عنوان، /آفاق جديدة في المجال الرقمي: تعزيز فرص التوسع عالميا/، إلى أن دولة قطر تقدم من خلال مركز قطر للمال بوصفه مركزا ناشئا، مجموعة واسعة من الفرص لتوسيع الأعمال والابتكار للشركات من مختلف أنحاء العالم، وخاصة الشركات الأمريكية، لتشكل بذلك بوابة عبور مثالية لها لتأسيس أعمالها محليا والتوسع إلى أسواق آسيا، والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
وأضاف الجيدة: “تعتبر الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية واحدة من الدول المتقدمة عالميا في القطاع الرقمي، والتكنولوجيا المالية، والرياضة والإعلام، ويمثل مركز قطر للمال نقطة انطلاق مثالية للشركات الأمريكية للوصول إلى بيئة الابتكار المحلية في دولة قطر. وبالنظر إلى الاقتصاد القطري سريع النمو، توجد إمكانيات كبيرة للشركات الأمريكية لتأسيس عملياتها هنا، خاصة وأن دولة قطر تواصل سعيها بثبات لتحقيق مزيد من النمو مع استضافة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022 وأبعد من ذلك”.
من جانبها قالت سعادة الشيخة العنود بنت حمد آل ثاني المدير التنفيذي لتنمية الأعمال في مركز قطر للمال، خلال مشاركتها في حلقة نقاشية بعنوان: /تمهيد الطريق: احتياجات الشركات الرقمية الأمريكية عند التوسع عالميا/: “قطعت دولة قطر شوطا كبيرا في ترسيخ مكانتها دوليا ونحن نواصل هذه المسيرة اليوم كمركز عالمي لممارسة الأعمال”.
وأشارت الشيخة العنود إلى أن مركز قطر للمال يعد نقطة انطلاق أساسية لتأسيس الأعمال بدولة قطر والدخول إلى الأسواق الناشئة ذات الإمكانات الهائلة للنمو في المجال الرقمي، بما في ذلك على سبيل المثال لا الحصر، آسيا، والشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، منوهة إلى أن تأسيس شركة في مركز قطر للمال سيكون نقطة بداية هامة في رحلة توسع الشركات الدولية من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى سائر أنحاء المنطقة.
إلى ذلك، تطرقت الندوة، التي شارك فيها عدد من الخبراء في مجالات التكنولوجيا والرقمنة والأعمال، إلى الكيفية التي تمكن الشركات الأمريكية، من الاستفادة من الفرص التجارية المتاحة في قطر وتأمين أفضل الظروف لنجاحها.
كما تناولت الفعالية عملية تسريع وتيرة التحول الرقمي في ظل تفشي جائحة فيروس كورونا /كوفيد – 19/ والحاجة الملحة إلى تقديم منتجات وخدمات مبتكرة، كما ناقش المتحدثون خلالها الطرق التي يمكن للشركات الأمريكية من خلالها تعزيز خبراتها واغتنام الفرص الاستثمارية غير التقليدية التي توفرها دول كقطر، وسنغافورة، ولوكسمبورغ، والتي أصبحت تحظى باهتمام كبير في السوق العالمي كمراكز مالية ورقمية دولية جديدة.
