Restaurant managers in Souq Waqif: 60% drop in sales during the summer

Doha: Restaurant managers in Souq Waqif have confirmed that there has been a significant drop in sales since the entry of summer and rising temperatures, as well as most people travelling on summer holidays. They said that the decline in turnout is normal, especially during July and August, but this particular year turnout has declined more than usual, and their sales have decreased significantly, for several reasons, the most important of which is that they can only receive customers who have been vaccinated.
They added in a survey for Al-Sharq that the decline in the number of tourists and the prevention of shisha reduced the influx of customers, where the market before the pandemic was full of tourists who compensate for the low turnout of citizens and residents during the summer, stressing that the cancellation of summer festivals held in Souq Waqif before Corona played a big role in the decline in market sales in general during this period
They told Al Sharq that they tried to find alternative ways to overcome this situation by focusing on online service and delivery of food to homes, and to add offers on the menu such as taking something and getting the second for free and other offers to attract customers and encourage them to come to the restaurant.

الدوحة: أكد مديرو مطاعم في سوق واقف أن هناك انخفاضا كبيرا في مبيعاتهم منذ دخول فصل الصيف وارتفاع درجات الحرارة، بالإضافة إلى سفر أغلب الناس في إجازات صيفية. وقالوا إن تراجع الإقبال أمر طبيعي خاصة خلال يوليو وأغسطس، لكن هذه السنة بالذات الاقبال تراجع اكثر من المعتاد، ومبيعاتهم انخفضت بشكل كبير، وذلك لعدة اسباب اهمها انه لا يمكنهم استقبال إلا الزبائن الحاصلين على التطعيم.
وأضافوا في استطلاع للشرق أن تراجع عدد السياح ومنع الشيشة قلل من توافد الزبائن، حيث كان السوق قبل الجائحة يعج بالسياح الذين يعوضون قلة اقبال المواطنين والمقيمين خلال فصل الصيف، مشددين على ان الغاء المهرجانات الصيفية التي كانت تقام بسوق واقف قبل كورونا كان لها دور كبير في تراجع مبيعات السوق بصفة عامة خلال هذه الفترة
وقالوا لـ الشرق انهم حاولوا ايجاد طرق بديلة لتجاوز هذا الوضع وذلك بالتركيز على خدمة الأونلاين وتوصيل الأكل الى المنازل، والى اضافة عروض على قائمة الأكل كأن تأخذ شيئا وتحصل على الثاني مجانا وغيرها من العروض لاستقطاب الزبائن وتشجيعهم على القدوم الى المطعم.
