MoPH reports 1390 new confirmed cases of coronavirus

Ministry of Public Health announces 1,390 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 124 recovered cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the State of Qatar to 3,143
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 26539 and there are 23382 active cases under treatment. So far, 14 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 3833 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 139127 tests.
The Ministry stated that the new cases are due to expatriate workers who were infected with the virus as a result of contact with individuals who were previously infected, in addition to recording new cases of infection among groups of workers in different regions. The new cases have been identified after conducting investigations by the research and investigation teams of the Ministry of Public Health.
Cases of infection have also increased among citizens and residents, as a result of contact with infected family members, who had been infected in the workplace or through visits and family gatherings. In this context, the Ministry affirmed that the high number of infections among citizens and residents is due to the lack of compliance by some with precautionary measures, the most important of which is physical distancing and reducing the need to leaving home. All the new infected cases have been quarantined where they are receiving the necessary medical care.
The Ministry of Public Health launched a community study to learn more about how the virus is transmitted within the community and about cases of infection that do not show symptoms of the disease. This is being done through the use of drive through testing centers, where invited participants complete a survey and have a test.
The Ministry of Public Health notes that the current period is considered to be the peak stage in the virus outbreak when numbers may continue to rise before they begin to stabilize and then gradually decline.
The reasons for the high numbers of new cases are due to the Ministry’s redoubling of its efforts in tracking the transitional chains of the virus and expanding the circle of searching for infected people through intensive and proactive investigations of large numbers of contacts with people who have been confirmed with the virus recently.
The Ministry of Public Health notes that the number of daily tests it conducts depends primarily on the number of contacts with individuals confirmed to be infected with the virus, as it conducts random checks in different places of the country as a proactive measure. The number of tests performed daily is not linked to the number of cases detected in terms of any rise or fall.
The Ministry of Public Health calls on all members of the community to stay at home and not go out except in cases of necessity and to implement preventive measures and maintain physical distancing, including in the workplace and public places.
The Ministry reminds people to use a face mask as recommended and avoid social visits to reduce their risk of contracting the virus. The Ministry of Public Health calls on any person who has symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the dedicated hotline on 16000, or go to one of the centers for testing the virus, as the earlier the disease is detected, the easier it will be to recover from it. أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة، اليوم، عن تسجيل 1390 حالة إصابة جديدة مؤكدة بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19)، وتعافي 124 شخصا من المرض وذلك في الأربع والعشرين ساعة الأخيرة، ليرتفع إجمالي عدد حالات الشفاء في دولة قطر إلى 3143 حالة.
وذكرت الوزارة، في بيان لها، أن الحالات الجديدة تعود لأشخاص من العمالة الوافدة كانوا قد أصيبوا بالفيروس نتيجة مخالطتهم لأفراد تم اكتشاف إصابتهم سابقا، بالإضافة لتسجيل حالات إصابة جديدة بين مجموعات من العمالة في مناطق مختلفة وذلك خلال إجراء فحوصات استقصائية من قبل فرق البحث والتقصي التابعة لوزارة الصحة الأمر الذي أسهم في الكشف المبكر عن الحالات.
كما ارتفعت حالات الإصابة والعدوى بالفيروس بين المواطنين والمقيمين وذلك نتيجة مخالطتهم لمصابين من أفراد أسرهم كانوا قد أصيبوا بدورهم في مكان العمل أو من خلال الزيارات والتجمعات العائلية.
وأكدت الوزارة في هذا الإطار أن ارتفاع الإصابات بين المواطنين والمقيمين يعود إلى عدم تقيد البعض بالإجراءات الاحترازية، وأهمها التباعد الاجتماعي وتقليل الخروج من المنزل والزيارات الاجتماعية.
وتم إدخال الحالات المؤكدة إصابتها بالفيروس للعزل الصحي التام في مختلف المرافق الطبية بالدولة، حيث يتلقون العناية الصحية اللازمة حسب الوضع الصحي لكل حالة.
وكانت وزارة الصحة العامة قد أطلقت استبيانا مجتمعيا لمعرفة المزيد حول كيفية انتقال عدوى فيروس (كوفيد – 19) ضمن المجتمع وحالات الإصابة التي لا تظهر عليها أعراض المرض وذلك من خلال مراكز مسح من المركبات تقوم بأخذ مسحات من المشاركين في الاستبيان حيث يتم إجراء الاستبيان والمسح لعينات من المجتمع يتم توجيه لها الدعوة للمشاركة في هذه المبادرة.
وأفادت الوزارة بأن الفترة الحالية تعتبر مرحلة الذروة في تفشي الفيروس مع بلوغها (أعلى موجة) والتي تشهد استمرارا لارتفاع الأعداد قبل أن تبدأ في الاستقرار ثم الانخفاض التدريجي. كما تعود أسباب ارتفاع الأعداد إلى مضاعفة الوزارة جهودها في تتبع السلاسل الانتقالية للفيروس وتوسيع دائرة البحث عن المصابين عبر إجراء فحوصات مكثفة واستباقية لأعداد كبيرة من المخالطين للأشخاص الذين تم التأكد من إصابتهم بالفيروس مؤخرا.
ونوهت وزارة الصحة العامة بأن عدد الفحوصات اليومية التي تجريها على الأشخاص تعتمد في الأساس على عدد المخالطين للأفراد المؤكدة إصابتهم بالفيروس، كما أنها تقوم بفحوصات عشوائية في أماكن مختلفة من البلاد كإجراء استباقي، حيث إن عدد الفحوصات التي يتم إجراؤها يوميا لا يرتبط شرطا بعدد الحالات المكتشفة من ناحية الارتفاع أو الانخفاض.
وشددت على أنه مع وصول تفشي فيروس كورونا مرحلة الذروة في دولة قطر، فإن من الضروري عدم الخروج من المنزل إلا للضرورة القصوى مع التأكيد على أهمية الالتزام بكافة الإجراءات والتدابير الوقائية لحماية أنفسهم من عدوى الفيروس ومنها المحافظة على التباعد الاجتماعي والمسافة الآمنة من الآخرين بما في ذلك في مكان العمل والأماكن العامة واستخدام الكمام الطبي وتجنب الزيارات الاجتماعية للتقليل من احتمال الإصابة بالفيروس.
ودعت وزارة الصحة أي شخص لديه أعراض الإصابة بفيروس (كوفيد-19) إلى سرعة الاتصال بخط المساعدة الموحد (16000)، أو التوجه لأحد مراكز الفحص عن الفيروس، حيث إنه كلما كان الكشف عن المرض مبكرا كان العلاج أسهل والتعافي منه أسرع.
