Summer heat revives marine sports

Doha: Various beaches are witnessing a huge turnout from young people on marine sports in areas permitted by the relevant authorities and in compliance with the dates set by the competent authorities.

A number of water bike enthusiasts confirmed their commitment to safety measures while practicing their hobby, which attracts young people of all ages, noting that marine sports witnessed a revival with the advent of the summer, which increased the demand of young people on various beaches and ports to ride and parade water bikes in the permitted areas by the concerned authority.

Al-Raya met with a number of hobby enthusiasts in Al-Shuwaikh port, where they confirmed that marine sports are their only breathing space in the summer to get out of the of their houses to the wide space where they can enjoy, pointing out that the hobby of water cycling enjoys a high degree of safety if properly practiced such as wearing a life jacket that protects the wearer from drowning when he falls from the bike.

They explained to Al-Raya that providing all the needs of hobby lovers in Al-Shuwaikh port parking and fuel station in addition to parking for water bikes, encouraged many to buy water bikes or exercise by renting from the shops available in the port, Stressing that the most prominent causes of water bike accidents are due to non-compliance with the rules of security, safety and driving at high speeds, demanding awareness campaigns to urge young people to highlight safety measures while water cycling.

الدوحة: تشهد مختلف الشواطئ إقبالًا كبيرًا من الشباب على ممارسة الرياضات البحرية في المناطق المسموح بها من قبل الجهات المعنية والالتزام بالمواعيد التي حددتها الجهات المختصة.

وأكد عدد من محبي رياضة الدراجات المائية التزامهم بإجراءات السلامة خلال ممارستهم الهواية التي تجذب الشباب من مختلف الأعمار، لافتين إلى أن الرياضات البحرية شهدت انتعاشًا مع دخول فصل الصيف، الأمر الذي زاد إقبال الشباب على مختلف الشواطئ والموانئ لقيادة الدراجات المائية والاستعراض بها في المناطق المسموح بها من قبل الجهة المعنية. الراية التقت بعدد من ممارسي هذه الهواية في ميناء الشيوخ، حيث أكدوا أن الرياضات البحرية هي المتنفس الوحيد لهم في فصل الصيف للخروج من أجواء المنزل إلى الفضاء الواسع الذي لا يشعرون فيه بالملل، لافتين إلى أن هواية ركوب الدراجات المائية تتمتع بدرجة أمان عالية في حال تم ممارستها بالشكل الصحيح كارتداء سترة النجاة التي تحمي مرتديها من الغرق حالَ سقوطه من الدراجة.

وأوضح هؤلاء لـ الراية أن توفر كافة احتياجات محبي الهواية في ميناء الشيوخ من مواقف للسيارات ومحطة الوقود إلى جانب المواقف المخصصة للدراجات المائية، شجع العديد على اقتناء الدراجات المائية أو ممارسة الرياضة عن طريق التأجير من المحلات المتوفرة بالميناء، مؤكدين أن أبرز أسباب حوادث الدراجات المائية تعود لعدم الالتزام بقواعد الأمن والسلامة والقيادة بسرعات عالية ورعونة، مطالبين بحملات توعوية لحث الشباب على أبرز إجراءات السلامة أثناء القيادة.
